I heart Tate hard. WTH was with the Piggy Pig dude? It's hard for me to take him serious after watching Modern Family.
***** POSSIBLE SPOILERS *****
I don't heart Tate. Probably partially because he's like my son's age, and partially because he went and killed all those people.

It had to be the house, did you see where he was having the session w/the Dr? His memories of it were really bizzare

First or second? I'm not sure either, but he can't remember the details and he's walking thru the school with his face painted.
And he has no genuine memory of the event. Plus even the bitter wheelchair bound teacher, when pressed by Violet, admitted that up until that moment, Tate was always a good kid who kept to himself.

No, his response to the victims sealed the deal for me. I don't think he has any genuine memory of what happened. I think the house controlled him.
I'm looking forward to more of Constance's dead husband. I like that actor.

One thing that bothered me a little was the consistency. In the episode where the school shooting ghosts found Tate they said it happened slightly different from how they finally showed it.
You're referring to her saying he asked if she believed in God. That was intentional.
After Columbine, one of the main stories about it was that Dylan asked a chick if she believed in God. When she said yes, he said 'wrong answer' and shot her.
It was held up for years by right wing Christians who argued that these were heathen godless goths.
Eventually, though, students present at the time of the shooting admitted that interaction never happened.
A lot of this show is fusing real american horror stories with horror culture.

Yeah, I really appreciated it, actually. I like the way they're also discussing how every time we retell a true horror story, we twist and alter it. Same with the 'piggy' story. It's 'the new twist' to that urban legend.

The whole part of killing her off is something I don't get, and I'm wondering if I'm missing what it's referencing, other than as a plot device to help explain along the whole 'if you die on the house's grounds, you're stuck there' thing.
Also it's key in that countering the idea that all the ghosts there are trapped by an inability to move forward, as opposed to literally trapped there by the house.

My two main issues I've had with the show: I think the hatchet murder tate commits in episode 2 is really overall out of character, and my guess is that they weren't 100% on the direction he was going in at the time they wrote it. Because from what we know about him now, his shooting was highly out of character (house possessing him) and he is actually extremely sensitive/disturbed by violence. So why didn't he react to that murder he committed, especially if he allegedly 'doesn't know he's dead?'
The second is the 'make sure the armenian doesn't die on the property because his ghost would be so annoying'. Now, I agree with this, but also: those three idiots from episode 2 died on the property. Wouldn't they not want those people, either?

Sounds like they might be writing on the fly, which would be bad.
