    Missing Person: Can you help?
19-year-old Luke Durbin disappeared on May 11th after a night out in Ipswich with his friends at Zest nightclub. Do you have any information that could help the search?

    Out of character..
Luke's mother Nicki, 37, says she has no idea why her son has gone missing. She describes him as a happy and sociable boy with a huge circle of friends.

    Have you seen Luke?
Luke, who lives in Hollesley, is described as white, 5ft 10in, of slim build, with short mousy-coloured wavy hair and blue eyes. At the time of his disappearance he was wearing a black or grey long-sleeved collared shirt, blue jeans and brown suede shoes.

I've heard about Luke before.  I think I've seen him mum on tv doing an appeal.

Reading those messages from his friends and family on http://www.findluke.com/ are heart breaking.  They just want to know that he is okay.

Yeah it has had nationwide attention, and as a few people have come up with different locations within the UK where he might be i thought it was best to put it here.

There's a young lad of 14 i've been keeping eye out in London for called Andrew (he hasn't got myspace so can't put it here) His mums pleas for him are heartbreaking.

So many people with lives on hold waiting for answers  :-(

Police investigating the disappearance of a Suffolk man five years ago say they may have uncovered new evidence.

Luke Durbin was 19 when he was last seen on CCTV in Ipswich on 12 May 2006 following a night out with friends.

Original witnesses were interviewed again and one reported seeing Mr Durbin being driven in a car by a black man in Woodbridge on 13 May.

Police said they believed the sighting to be significant and urged anyone with information to contact them.

In November 2010, detectives from the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team took on the case and reviewed the evidence.

Original witnesses were re-interviewed to see whether they recalled anything else that was not captured during the initial investigation.

Det Ch Insp John Brocklebank said he was "extremely encouraged" by the co-operation from witnesses and was hopeful new lines of inquiry could be unearthed.

    Missing hours
He said: "My primary role was to undertake a review of the original investigation, but as time went on it became apparent that there were other possible avenues of inquiry.

"I would beg people to think back and if there is anything they can remember... I would plead with them to contact the police”

"So, it has come to this stage where I'm looking for a very specific degree of help from the public, especially those who live or who have lived in Woodbridge."

The sighting of Mr Durbin in a dark blue Renault Megane was between 1100 BST and 1400 BST on 13 May 2006 near the Turban Centre, Woodbridge.

Mr Durbin's mother, Nicki Durbin, said she hoped the new appeal would encourage people to come forward.

She said: "It does bring into question as to what happened to Luke from the early hours of Friday morning until Saturday afternoon and who he was with, and whether or not they know something about his disappearance.

"It is difficult to recall what you were doing five weeks ago let alone five years ago, but I would beg people to think back and if there is anything they can remember about the early hours of Friday morning to the Saturday afternoon regarding Luke, I would plead with them to contact the police."

Mr Brocklebank said: "Although this still remains a missing person inquiry, we are looking at all possibilities of what has happened to Luke, which includes Luke being unlawfully killed."

The title of this thread says he went missing in 2007, but looks like it was 2006, according to the last few posts.

Police investigating the disappearance of a 19-year-old eight years ago have uncovered human remains in woodland.

Luke Durbin, of Hollesley, near Woodbridge, Suffolk, went missing after a night out in Ipswich in May 2006.

Today, Suffolk Police confirmed that a human bone had been found in a wooded area near the village of Ufford by officers investigating his disappearance.

Detective Superintendent John Brocklebank said: "Officers have been searching the woodland area in Ufford as part of our continued inquiries into Luke's disappearance.

"We knew Luke frequented this area prior to him going missing and, as well as other lines of inquiry, we have also recently searched the woodland area.

"At this very early stage we cannot make any assumptions about the discovery of the small piece of bone; however, we have had it confirmed that it is human."

Forensic anthropologists will examine the bone to establish whether it belonged to a man or woman, the age of the person and potentially their identity. The process is expected to take several weeks.

"We also need to carry out a more detailed search of the area, which again may take a number of weeks," Mr Brocklebank added.

"We have advised Luke's family of the discovery, but we are keen to stress that we cannot and will not speculate that this is Luke.

"We need to pass the work to specialists in this field to establish the identity of the bone."

The last confirmed sighting of Mr Durbin was in Dog's Head Street in Ipswich at 4am on 12 May 12 2006.

Police said CCTV images of him at the railway station, a taxi rank and crossing the road towards the town's bus station suggested he was trying to get back to his home in Hollesley.

His mother, Nicki Durbin, has led a campaign to find her son.

Speaking in 2011, she said: "The thing with a family of a missing loved one is you are just in a constant state of grief.

"You can't go through the process of mourning your child.

"I would love it if Luke walked around the back of the house laughing. That would be the best outcome but I think the reality is that's not going to happen."

Two men, aged 26 and 41, were arrested earlier last year as part of the murder investigation, but later released.

More than 100 people have been interviewed by police investigating the case.
