    Simply a PR move.

The people in charge could care less. They're running a business and that's how they look at it.

Exactly. That is why they do not get a cent of my money.

In my opinion, they should put more money into programs to help people with gambling problems considering that they helped create the problems.

Liable for what? It's not their job to keep him away. It's bad business obviously. Now if he was a winner most of the time then they would be more active in keeping him away.

In the case of Pit's dad, where they are aware of the situation and the family signed a form to keep him out, I'd see this as comparable to a bartender continuing to serve a clearly intoxicated patron. But, I see your point - it's a business and they can easily say they never saw him there, yada yada. But don't casino patrons always have those cards they swipe? I'd think once he handed over his card, it would put up a red flag. :|

If she wins, I'm bringing suit against Anheuser-Busch.  :-D

I wonder if I gave her odds on winning her suit she would take it.

I wonder if she had spent the same amount of time there, etc but had WON millions of dollars, if she'd still be filing.

I am suing this girl that told me to, "Get lost loser" last night (okay, there were two of them) for the cost of getting myself drunk after the incident last night.  I ran up quite a tab, and that chick owes me $34.67.  Then I am suing my parents for not letting me be in the band when I was a kid, for all the money I spent on equipment when I had to be in a band in my twenties.  Had they just let me play the freaking tuba, I would have lost interest in it then.

Yeah, when I read that line I lost any kind of sympathy I had for her. Way to be a selfish bitch, how about you just swerve your car off a fuckin cliff and keep your problems to yourself?

Um, she didn't actually do it. Lots of people consider things during a moment of hopelessness that they would never actually do.

Personally, I think this is really interesting and haven't made up my mind yet. It would be nice to see casinos and pubs with pokie machines be made accountable for the damage they can cause when staff behave unethically. There's a difference between providing a service and letting adults make their own decisions, and knowingly preying on people who are highly vulnerable because of their illness and incapable of deciding rationally. That includes turning a blind eye and making a profit from negligence, not just actively exploiting them.
