Things I have learned while reading this thread.

Its ok Euclair I understood you and I don't blame THIS grandmother either. .

Again I will explain myself too. If it was ME as a grandmother and I had a son with ALL of those mental diseases at once AND who wouldn't get any help I would have been at that house long before 8 days. Thats ME.  I would be more watchful over that kid. And with the mother being a space cadet who gives away her children,  I would definitely fight for custody if he was endangering the child.

That doesn't mean I blame THIS grandmother or people with mental illnesses. If I blamed her I wouldn't have put a link (2 times) to a memorial where you can leave kind notes for her and the family.

I think I am pretty much done posting on this site. I was interested in becoming a paying member but even when I try to tell people if they have a problem with me to PM me instead of fighting on the board they don't. They talk to me through Karma telling me to "STFU no one likes a martyr". And "waaaahhhhh".

Not one of those disorders or the combination of all of them together "at once" causes someone to do something like that.  Some people are just evil.  Depression, ADHD, Bipolar etc does not equal narcissism or psychopathic behavior.

Nocturnity is 100% correct.

I have worked with the DD community and folks who utilized Supported Employment via county and state and everyone I knew who had children took remarkable care of them.

The only reasons these (Depression, ADHD, Bipolar etc.) are even discussed in the news articles is that the James and Tracey's families and the DEFENSE attorneys put it out there.  They are hoping for an insanity plea or reduced sentencing because of all of their <sniff, sniff, sob> "issues".    Kind of like the "throw enough mud at somebody and at least some is gonna stick" method of trial management.

I think you might be reading it wrong.  The article says he was sentenced to 100 years.

When I go to http://www.idoc.state.il.us/subsections/search/default.asp and search for inmate "Sargent," then select "James" from the list of results, it appears that he will become eligible for parole in the year 2108, which is in 99 years.
