James William Loew, 29, died Dec. 23, 2007, in San Francisco, Calif. Survivors include his parents, Sandra A. and James R. Loew, of Florence; his sister, Olive A. Loew, of San Francisco; his grandmothers, Pauline R. Weiss, of Youngstown, Ohio, and Teresa J. Walsh, of Waterford, Conn.; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfathers, James D. Loew and William J. Walsh.
Jimmy graduated from York High School in Yorktown, Va., and attained the rank of Eagle Scout with Troop 201 in Yorktown. He attended Virginia Commonwealth University and graduated from the University of North Alabama.
Jimmy was generous, loving, creative and inspiring. He pursued life passionately, some might say desperately, but he truly loved life, his family and friends and was deeply loved in return.
A memorial service and celebration of Jimmy's life will be Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at 1 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Ohlhoff Recovery Programs, 601 Steiner St., San Francisco, CA 94117 or at http://www.ohlhoff.org.
