On November 12, 2003, Brandis died from injuries he suffered after hanging himself the previous day. According to his mother, he went out to dinner with friends, then they went back to his apartment at 650 South Detroit Street. His friends reported that he seemed to be agitated and pacing around quite a bit. He left the room, and approximately 15 minutes later, one of his friends went looking for him and found him hanging by a nylon rope in the second floor hallway of his building. His friends cut him down and called paramedics. Despite all efforts to revive him, he was later pronounced dead

What?  he hung himself in the public hallway of an apartment building?  Doubtful. That looks exactly like the inside of my friend's apartment building.

I think I read somewhere that one of the friends he was out with that day is someone who is still "famous".  An actor, but I can't remember who now!  Dean would know.  But really, how would his friends not have noticed him leaving the apartment with a rope?

i'm surprised to learn that, because it shows a lot of inconsideration towards his fellow apartment tenants.  i always thought of JB as more caring than that.

I hope he didn't break the sprinkler system or whatever he hung himself off.

This is also why I think someone must have spiked his drink or something, there is no way the normal Jon would ever do that to anyone.

Maybe he had more then his usual 4 wine spritzers

I wonder sick stuff sometimes.  Like, did he buy that rope knowing what he was going to do?  And what kind of sturdy structure did he find to hang himelf from?  I'm home right now, and I can't think of one place that I could hang from.  Not one.  And then he lived for several hours after that.  I thought it would have been immediate.  I'm glad I'm going out tonight.  I can't handle this agony much longer.

you are SO wrong.  jb totally had it planned.  i posit that he knew that he was such a strong soul he understood that it would take until the next day to die -- therefore he wanted to die on 11/12.  let's see why jb so clearly chose this date:

FACT: 1970 - The Oregon Highway Division attempts to destroy a rotting beached Sperm whale with explosives, leading to the now infamous exploding whale incident
FACT: 1980 - The NASA space probe Voyager I makes its closest approach to Saturn and takes first images of its rings

FACT: 1997 - Ramzi Yousef, the man behind the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, was convicted in New York
