Watch Season 2, it's better because they weren't using the British scripts.  The British scripts are hilarious but don't necessarily mesh/make sense in an American setting.

According to the article:
Police speculate the June 26 shooting deaths of Jason McGuigan, 28, Dustin Wilson, 17, and Daniel Swanson, 25, were related to gambling debts Wu may have incurred.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Dane County Circuit Court the day after his July 6 arrest in New York, Wu had been helped by McGuigan with placing bets with an offshore gambling company in the Bahamas.

Wu told police he had lost $15,000 gambling between April and June 2003 and he had withdrawn $72,000 from his bank account between December and June.

Investigators are still working to solidify a motive and find what they believe is the murder weapon, a 9mm handgun that McGuigan allegedly bought from a Sun Prairie gun dealer June 6.

The gun’s case was found in a dumpster near Wu’s 114 W.



Um.  I would really like to know why this is the one guy in the world who's homicides were justifiable.  I mean, more so than people who murdered nazis or shot husbands who molested their children.  I guess someone loves gambling.

Oh man, I would freak out and shoot the shit out of that guy.  In fact, I'd also arm all of the mentally incompetent and invite them over to shoot Mark Wu, too.  And I'd let them keep the guns afterward, in case anyone scams me out of money later.  I might invite Andy, I'm not sure yet.

Yeah, and then I'd check out my legal options, and then I'd question why a 23 year old had $17,000 grand to blow on gambling in the first place, and then I'd seek help for my gambling problem.  The reason he had no legal recourse to reclaim the money was because he was placing an illegal debt.  What if he had lost anyways?  Would he still shoot his friends?

HE PLACED AN ILLEGAL BET AND HE GOT SCREWED BECAUSE HE MADE A STUPID CHOICE.  THAT DOESN'T GIVE HIM THE RIGHT TO MURDER THREE PEOPLE, TWO OF WHICH ARE MERELY ASSOCIATED WITH THE GUY HE HAD PROBLEMS WITH IN THE FIRST PLACE.

I just caught the last part of that on Forensic Files last night....never really paid too much attention to the guys name though.

However, regardless of what those 3 kids did, they did not deserve to be executed. And yes, I think pinning him a murderer is well justified.

This Mark Wu guy had a terrible gambling problem and spent quite a bit of his parents money. Killing 3 people over his problem is ridiculous!

Apparently he had some joint account that his parents set up that was worth a couple hundred thousand dollars. They were actually in route to the US to take him back home because they were concerned about what was going on I believe.
