Re: With 4th Wife Missing, Death Of Police Officer's 3rd Wife Under New Scrutiny

I don't have it with me, but in the new People, he gives a 2-hour interview, and says something along the lines of "I didn't know she was 17. I asked her if she minded me being 47 and she said no. I was a lonely old man." There's also something about his second (I believe) wife where he says he loved her, but she couldn't comprehend that maybe "she was the cause of the problems."

    http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/11/28/missing.wife.ap/index.html

BOLINGBROOK, Illinois (AP)  -- Searchers looking for a former police officer's missing wife were told by police to watch for a blue plastic barrel that could fit the woman's body inside, one of the searchers said.

Illinois State Police also told members of Texas EquuSearch, which has assisted law enforcement, family and friends in the search for Stacy Peterson, to focus on areas of water in their search for the barrel, Tim Miller, founder and director of the private group, said Tuesday.

"They actually even gave me a picture of what we might be looking for," Miller said. "It was certainly large enough to put her body in, she only weighed about a hundred pounds."

Peterson, 23, was last seen on October 28. Authorities have said her husband, Drew Peterson, is a suspect in her disappearance and have called her case a possible homicide. The search for the woman has been ongoing since her disappearance.

It was not clear why police were making the barrel a focus in the search. Illinois State Police did not return messages from The Associated Press late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

Peterson's disappearance led authorities to re-examine the circumstances of the 2004 death of Drew Peterson's third wife, Kathleen Savio. Authorities have said her death may have been a homicide staged to look like an accidental bathtub drowning.

Drew Peterson, 53, has denied any involvement in either case and said he believes his 23-year-old wife left him for another man and is alive. His attorney did not return calls.

On Tuesday, Peterson emerged from his suburban Chicago home with a hand-held video camera and told the horde of reporters surrounding his house that they made him feel like a prisoner.

Re: With 4th Wife Missing, Death Of Police Officer's 3rd Wife Under New Scrutiny

Here's another good update from today with more details.

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,313401,00.html

A couple of things that aren't in the cnn article:

Drew Peterson called in sick the night Stacy disappeared.
One of Drew Peterson's relatives told someone he helped Drew get rid of the barrel, then was later hospitalized for a suicide attempt.
Joel Brodsky, Peterson's attorney, is denying everything and says the relative has a history of mental illness.

I'm so glad something is finally happening here! I'm almost compelled to go out and look for the barrel.

And even creepier, they named their little daughter, Lacey  :-o

I think this case smells, and smells strong.  Only because he's a fucking cop is he getting away with all of this.  She's only 23 (or was, I hate to say that), long life ahead of her, and a pig who can't take rejection kills her.  I hope I have to eat my words later, but this cop smells like rotten bacon to me.

Stacy P's daughter is named Lacy (spelled Lacy) but LACI peterson is spelled with an "I", me and my fiancee are naming our daughter after Laci Peterson. and Laci's mom has given us permission to do so. we both love that name. and its sad to say that it does look like another Laci/scott peterson case, only the first names have changed. whatever the outcome, it is not going to be good at all.

Re: With 4th Wife Missing, Death Of Police Officer's 3rd Wife Under New Scrutiny

    http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/law/12/11/peterson.wife.ap/index.html

BOLINGBROOK, Illinois (AP) -- A former police officer's missing wife once confided in a pastor that her husband admitted killing his third wife, the pastor said.

Former Illinois police officer Drew Peterson is considered a suspect in the disappearance of his fourth wife.

Former Westbrook Christian Church pastor Neil Schori told Fox News Channel's Greta Van Susteren in an interview broadcast Monday that Stacy Peterson told him in August that her husband, Drew Peterson, admitted killing his previous wife, Kathleen Savio.

Schori said he asked Stacy Peterson, Drew Peterson's fourth wife, to clarify what she had said and she responded, "'He killed Kathleen."' Schori said the conversation occurred when he and Stacy Peterson met at a coffee shop.

Savio's body was found in her bathtub in 2004 and her death initially was ruled an accidental drowning. After Stacy Peterson disappeared in October, prosecutors opened another investigation into the Savio case, and said it appears her death was a homicide staged to look like an accident. Drew Peterson has not been named a suspect in her death.

Stacy Peterson offered enough detail to be credible, said Schori, who declined to discuss the details in the interview.

"But it was very clear that this was not just speculation," he said. "She was not jumping to conclusions."

Joel Brodsky, Peterson's attorney, did not immediately return an after-hours phone message seeking comment from The Associated Press. But he said on the Fox program that "I'd love to get to cross-examine (Schori) because there are a lot of problems with his story."

Schori said he thought Stacy Peterson never shared the information about Savio with police. Asked why Stacy Peterson chose to stay with her husband after learning about his former wife's death, Schori said, "My guess would be out of fear."

Although he has not been arrested or charged, Drew Peterson, 53, has been named a suspect in Stacy Peterson's disappearance by Illinois State Police, who have labeled the case a possible homicide.

Stacy Peterson was last seen October 28 and was reported missing by her family the next day. Drew Peterson, a member of the Bolingbrook Police Department until he quit after his wife went missing, has denied any involvement in her disappearance. He has said he believes his wife left him for another man and is alive.

Last month, the Westbrook Christian Church's pastor of spiritual formation told The Associated Press that Stacy Peterson requested an August meeting with a member of their pastoral staff when the church made a routine call to see why she and Drew Peterson had not attended services in recent months.

The church official made a "judgment call" not to alert authorities and did not consult with other church staff, Rob Daniels said.

At the time he spoke to the AP, Daniels would not identify the clergy member who met with Stacy Peterson or say where the meeting took place.

I feel so terrible for her family. They know she is dead but to know she is out there somewhere has got to be such an awful feeling.

I think she threatened to go to the authorities about his confession so he killed her.

Psycho bastard. I hope he goes down!

I read that they are re-opening the case of her missing mother and perhaps examining if she (the mother) had a link to Drew Peterson  :-o

I have no idea what that container is but here is a picture of it:

A male relative has come forward and told a trusted friend that on Oct. 28 he helped Peterson move a large container that was warm to the touch from a bedroom in the Peterson home.

The pic I keep seeing has been taken from the air and is of a blue type barrell lying in a wooded area.  I'm trying to find a copy of the pic.  Maybe it's just being used to show what they are looking for.

I just don't get why there isn't more information on exactly what the container is and such just like in the case of the little girl who was found in that container.

Maybe I'm crazy, but if my husband/boyfriend/father/sister/mother ever confided to me that they had killed someone, I would be turning their asses in to the police, not sharing the details with a priest.

The Illinois State Police are still being pretty tight-lipped on what evidence they may or may not have. They are letting just enough information out to ask for the public's help when they need it, but not much more than that. They may not have much more than that. I believe that the only information about the barrel is based on the stepbrother-in-law's previous statements. All I've read is that it's a blue plastic barrel. That may be all they have to go on.

Also, there have been various calls around this area of "blue barrel sightings," which is where the picture of a barrel in a wooded area that Olivia was talking about might have come from. They've investigated these sightings, and nothing related to the Peterson case has panned out.

This also came out today. They have been searching a canal for a week, but won't say what led them there...

Kaupas declined to say what led investigators to the canal. Pam Bosco, a spokeswoman for Stacy Peterson's family, said police told her they were using high-resolution sonar equipment borrowed from Minnesota to "give them a clearer picture of what they are seeing.

"There's lots of stuff down there. They're going to go every two miles, make sure it's good to go before going on to the next section, so they're doing a very thorough job," she said. " Nothing will get past them. ... They're investing a lot of money and time into this location, so there must be a reason for it."

first it was Laci and (i hate to say his name) in 2002. then it was Lori and (hate to say his name too) in 2004, now its Jessica Davis and Stacy Peteron in 2007. this world is only getting more cruel every day. and nothing is going to change that. cuz we have people on D.C. who say one thing and do another, just so they can say "im running for president" hillary cant run cuz she she's already served her two terms in office, bill may have had the title as president but hillary ran the country.    i just think its sad what the world has come too, when police officers murder their pregnant girlfriends and another one murders his 3rd wife and the 4th wife disappears.

is right. Oh my God. The media has been saturated with it nationwide - imagine what we are seeing here. You can't turn on the TV or radio at any given point in the day without hearing about it.

The People magazine thing was just over the top. He was out on his deck posing like he was on the red carpet in front of the Paparazzi. (Which I believe he called on national television the "Pavarozzi" lol.) He is the one that drew (no pun intended) the media in. He basks in the spotlight - and his arrogance is just mind-boggling.
