    Grace= 10 million pesos

Being intelligent, having a history in gymnastics and diving, going to a catholic school, getting hi with two O's just like Ohio, and being a pretty ginger all contribute to this high price.
And affirmative action is a very nice term for racial discrimination against better-qualified white people in jobs, employment, promotions and scholarships, and college admittance.

    MarryOurDaughter.com

We are sure you have read in various places on the web that the site is a hoax, and while we wouldn’t use exactly that term, the site is not what it, at first glance, appears to be.
We’re sure you’re wondering what the point of all this was, now that you know that the site isn’t what it said it was.

Call it an experiment an experiment in Viral Politics.  That children can marry down to twelve years old in America, which they can do, is Not Right. That the age of consent is higher than the age of marriage is Not Right.  That parents can marry off their children for money or for any other reason is Not Right.  Railing about it on the web, as many do, wasn’t making a difference.  Thinking outside the box led us to marryourdaughter.com.

Right off the top:  the photos of the girls are, as some on the web have suggested, downloaded from a “stock photo” site.  We bought an “unlimited use license” for the photos and we have no idea how long ago the photos were taken or how old the subjects are now.  The write-ups, bride prices, and testimonials were created by us.  The bottom line is that NO GIRLS WERE HARMED IN THE CREATION OF THIS WEBSITE.

If we fooled you or disgusted you, you have every right to be angry at us for what we did, but we ask you to direct that anger-generated energy where it will do the most good: toward those in your state who can change the law, your Governor and state representatives.  You can find them on this site.

We’ve also got some apologizing to do.  While we did our best not to flat-out lie whenever possible – people were always asking “Is this a real site?” to which we would reply “yes” since after all, its not an imaginary site - we do know what the definition of “is” is and where we crossed the line we apologize.

We also need to apologize to sincere people of faith who can reasonably feel slighted by what the site implied, although again we did our best to moderate that.  We do, however, ask you to look to your own communities of faith and consider why tossing in a word about the Bible or sentences about strong Christian values made the site both creepier and more believable.

Now some compliments and a few thank yous:

A shout-out to the State of Oregon, which does not allow anyone under the age of 17 to marry for any reason.  That should stand as a model for the country.

Our compliments to Daniel C. from this thread (fourth post down) for being, as far as we can tell, the only person posting on the web who “got” what we were doing right from the start and to “RebelRebel” on the The 2+2 Forums here who is quite perceptive, and half right.

Compliments also to Snopes.com and Museumofhoaxes.com, the two best arbiters of reality on the web, for continuing to display an awesome ability to sort Web-Truth from Web-Fiction (although we’re not sure why Snopes put us in the “Urban Legends” section, since we’d never heard of an urban legend similar to our site).

Thanks to the radio guys who put up with “Roger Mandervan” as he defended the reality and legality of the site for all “he” was worth.

Thanks to “Zana in Spokane” from the Museum of Hoaxes thread for calling the site BRILLIANT on and to Snopes for recognizing the thought we put into the site, but the comment that rocked our world was from Shaker on the RichardDawkins.com site who said we were “Something worthy of Lewis Carroll.”  We were unaware of Poe’s Law until Shaker mentioned it and are glad to have learned of it

Finally, if you’d like to know how the site did, since launching 9/4 we have gotten close to 50 million hits.and the hits just keep on coming.

Thank you for your time, your attention and we hope your action.  Once again, you can find email for your Governor and state representatives here.

    That’s all - for now.

Nah I think it's like close to a million dollars.
