Re: Michelle Crawford - Suicide #63

Just popped in to take a glance @ Michelle's thread, and saw that several of you posted here somewhat recently.  I did not realize that until just today.  So I wanted to take the time to say thank you to each of you again for all your kindness to me ... it has been of so much help to me, just to know that people still think of us, and I appreciate you for that.    Thanks, also, for the ones who sent emails/pm's to me.  You are so kind to think of us.  So I thought perhaps I should give a little update, without getting off topic ...

Tomorrow will be the 3-yr. mark of Michelle's passing.  If I 'look', I can tell you that I can still see her face that day, after I guided her to the chair, after I cut her down ... her lips, blue ... her face, forever etched with sadness.  I only mention it, again, because if there would ever be anyone reading her thread that would perhaps be thinking of taking their own life, you would stop and think long and hard.  I caught myself the other night realizing that in the back of my mind, I still sometimes have a feeling of waiting for something ... and it hit me that subconsciously, I sometimes still am waiting for her to come home.  Even after all this time ...  Then, of course, I realized that she will not ... that she never will again, at least not here.

Our family is slowly getting back on our feet, emotionally speaking.  But Michelle, the gift ... she's not forgotten.  I still have pictures of her everywhere ... some who have lost their children, take down all their pictures, etc, and I can understand that, and I don't condemn them for that.  It hurts so much to see them.  But on the other hand, it is good to see her smiling.  That's how I want to be able to remember her, those pictures can somewhat be super-imposed over the last real-life picture I had of her, the one of her in her coffin.

Thanks again to Mike, for all that your site does, and for those who have let Michelle touch your life.  Take care!

I find myself as a Mom not wanting to leave people with the 'worst' pics of Michelle, so please bear with me while I post 3 more.  That will be all ... These next 2 are from her 27th b-day, the last one she let me celebrate her with (and I said that correctly) ...

    Hi Sue,

I just went through the entire thread in the past couple of days.  I feel like it was fate that made me read it.  I will explain more in a PM to you, but my Daddy passed away 6 months ago yesterday so I was at a very perilous place emotionally.  My mom came home from a cruise last night and she and I talked about Michelle, her life and the photographical history you have of her.  Our family is the same in so many respects, the photos could easily have been taken from our own albums.  I was the youngest of four, Michelle was the oldest.  I am by far closer to my parents (now just my mom) than my other siblings, and she told me that if she were ever to lose me to suicide she would literally not have the strength to go on and she would die.

The poem to Michelle you wrote and the description of the utter despair you experienced really hit home with me, and I want to tell you that I thank you.  Again more info in the PM to come.  You have the strength that I know you probably never imagined you'd have and never hoped you'd need.  I am honored and my life is touched by Michelle and by you.

    Thank you so very much!

Thank you so very much for sharing that, Melissa, truly ... And I'm so thankful that you & your Mom talked, and you've done a turn-around about this.  One of the things that is most heart-breaking about losing Michelle is the fact that she could feel that hopeless, that much in despair.  I think she never fully realized how much we all really did love her.  It's my prayer that her story has caused others to re-think, just as in your case.  I'm so thankful that something so good could come out of something so horrible, and so tragic.

Hi, this is Michelle's mom, previously known as miss*chelle*chelle!!.  Forgot my password, and after several requests for a link to change it (never did receive an email for that, & def checked my spam folder, etc ...), I decided to just re-register.  Mom-eee is what Michelle always wrote, whenever she'd get me a card, leave me a note, etc ...

Michelle would have been 33 on the 8th of this month.  And I guess I wanted to give her thread a bump, too, on the hopes that once again, someone's life would be changed ...
