Bad enough people get hit by trains, to hit one takes it to another level.

Not just that, but before this statement, i thought that he was trying to beat the lights and GOT hit by the train. Him ramming into the side of a train that has been passing for a few minutes is totally ridiculous. I'm always amazed that people jump the railroad lights. I know they tend to be slow and they always seem to be shut for ages before a train makes an appearance but still! My sister lives right next to a train crossing here in the UK. It's a really old manual one where someone has to come out to open and close the gates. Pedestrians have to walk across the tracks and so many times you see cars trying to dash through the barrier or pedestrians trying to run across before the train comes but they come so quickly that you don't see or hear them till it's too late.

sometimes after i first smoke - i am oblivious to things. I just laugh, or get into listening to music or play video games... What if this kid had just blazed and got into the song on the radio - singing and just appling pressure to that gas peddle and BOOM!!! TRAIN!!! whooops. he never saw it coming. I could see it happening - thats why i cant drive blazed... if i do, im a paranoid 10mph mess.

Same here, which is why I only smoke when I know with 99.9% certainty that I won't have to drive for any reason. I think I'm "speeding" if I get up to 25 mph. I can't imagine blazing up and driving at 50-55mph right into the side of a train. It would take me 10 minutes just to reach the security gates of my complex after I smoke. :lol: :lol: :lol:

Uh, yeah. If this was an act of suicide, which to me, points in that direction, than bringing other people down with you is just f'd up. A couple years ago some dumbass parked his car on the tracks on the Metrolink and ended up killing about 20 people on the train, suicidal dumbass was fine and now sits in jail for murder.
The only other explanation I have for this kid is that he was either deaf and blind or his brakes malfunctioned, but then why wouldn't you try to swerve AWAY from the train instead of INTO the train?
I'm still completely perplexed by this story. Can't imagine how his parents feel.
