What bothered me most was that all she wanted before she died was someone to hold her hand :-(

Re: Autumn Rose Steinhebel - Death #494 - So Sad

This is my first post ever (longtime lurker).

This death really made me sad :( The email broke my heart. But I looked at her friends' comments and a friend posted that same message back in March. I think it's just one of those chainmail things that people post on each other's myspace. The sentiment really rang true for her though. She seemed like such a lovely girl. I agree with everyone, it's these deaths that really get to us because all they wanted to do was live. So sad.

I'm a student nurse and I'm doing my rotation in chronic illnesses in a week. I'll be doing home visits to families with really ill children (with feeding tubes and oxygen and things like that). I'm already really sad about it. I just hate to see people who haven't even become adults yet and they're stuck dealing with so much that most of us take for granted.

It's stories like these which made me fill out the organ donor card.

M is right!! Fill out the organ donor card, and TELL YOUR FAMILY ABOUT YOUR WISHES!! This way, if anything happens to you, there will be no confusion about what to do.

They do ask, and my license says 'donor', but they also make you sign a form stating that you will tell your family about your wishes. Apparently, since you are dead, your family can override your decision to donate your organs. If they know your wishes ahead of time, they won't have to make any decisions under duress.

Major props to whoever created that video of Autumn. (the youtube vid). The pictures really matched up with the lyrics and made the whole video more emotional to those who knew her.

Hey 997-
Like Dee, I think its because this is a death in which the deceased isn't implicated in any way. It makes it harder, because she wasn't taking stupid chances, or doing something moronic. I mean, when you look at all the suicides, murders (many of whom were murdered by people that they were involved with), and generally stupidity, this death stands out - she was young, seemed sweet, and wanted to live.

hi guys.
my names carol anne
i made the montage of autumn.
i was a friend of hers from camp sweeney... she was one of the greatest people i have ever met.
she was so sweet and kind... and she gave the world no reason to take her away.
the song you all are speaking of is by a friend of mine named tim hollis.
it is called 'a rose' and it was written for autumn.
i recieved this myspace comment
and i knew she was sick, got scared, and deleted it.
i wish i could have gotten to tell her how much she meant to me and that i miss her so much.
she may have earned her wings, but i wish she could have stayed longer.

Carol Anne (we share a unique middle name), you left a lovely tribute

As I am typing now, the words below are from my heart and mine alone.

Â* Â*Please know that the love for your friend extends far beyond written words, far beyond tears, far beyond wishes made to the heavens.Â* There are whispers we leave in hopes that they will be sent to still ears, there are prayers we hope will be picked up and delivered on the tips of angels wings.

It is the honest voices of our truest friends, our soul mates, our families of spirit who will send the loudest message of all.Â* Â*That message, no matter the words are We Love You

You were a friend in the purest sense of the word.

Debbie (Anne)

I am so sorry about the loss of your friend. I know, too well, the pain of losing a friend unexpectedly. My friend, Scott, was killed by a drunk driver when we were 16. That was over half a lifetime ago, and I still remember how awful the pain was. It gets better but it never goes away.

You are a good friend, and have done a very sweet thing for everyone who loved her.

You sure know how to reduce me to a blubbering idiot. I'm so sorry, even though I know that no amount of condolences will bring her back.

God, she was so young...and seemed like such a pure, beautiful soul...

she really was.
shes one of the most beautiful girls i have ever met.
it was funny how we met...
because autumn was wearing a team kristin shirt and i was wearing my team lc... so yea.
its from laguna beach.. in case you didnt kno.
lol.
but this picture says it all

autumn lived life to the fullest.
she was always laughing and smiling.
and full of life and joy.
i draw a heart on my left hand every day to remind myself to do just that, like autumn did.
