Software engineer and former Kansas City Chiefs cheerleader Krystal Anderson (40) died from sepsis after a stillbirth

Krystal Anderson, a former Kansas City Chiefs cheerleader, has died at age 40 due to sepsis following a stillbirth.

Anderson, who cheered for more than 100 games, passed away on 20 March, the official Chiefs Cheer team confirmed on Instagram. A GoFundMe page shared that Anderson was hospitalised at 21 weeks pregnant and delivered her daughter, Charlotte Willow, who was stillborn. She developed a fever one day after the stillbirth and battled sepsis, which led to organ failure. After she was placed on life support, Anderson ?underwent three surgeries, but the source of infection remained elusive?.
In addition to cheering for the Chiefs from 2006 to 2011 and 2013 to 2016, Anderson was also a yoga instructor and a software engineer who was passionate about women?s health and Black women in STEM fields, her husband Clayton Anderson told FOX4. ?I feel lost,? he said. ?There?s a lot of people in this house and it feels empty.?

"The source of the infection remained elusive" after THREE surgeries.

Her family must be devastated. They've lost little Charlotte Willow AND Krystal. This happens all the time in the old newspapers and documents I transcribe, but sometimes I forget stuff like this still happens in 2024 - like dying from appendicitis or pneumonia.

Rest in peace, Krystal and Charlotte....
You are talking to a woman who has laughed in the face of death, sneered at doom and chuckled at catastrophe.

Very sad. It is possible that she had sepsis, which led to the stillbirth.

I didn't take it that way at all. Your fears are justified and I'm just happy that everything ended up being okay with you and baby

Nah, you didn't do that. You just told us how you felt, and that's totally justifiable. Ladies, pregnancy can be hella dangerous, as I'm sure some of you already are aware.

In Krystal's case, she's a woman of AA descent, and african american women just don't get the best care before, during, or after pregnancy, statistically, and that's just fucking sad.

This sucks. They should be together, celebrating with their new little bundle of amazing. Instead, he has had to bury the mother of his child and set out to raise this child on his own.

Raising kids is hard when there's two parents. Starting off alone? I don't wish that on anyone. I hope dad is able to keep Krystal's memory alive for their child.
Don't like what I have to say? I respect that. Go fuck yourself.

I hate reading stories like this especially before I gave birth.
I thought I was going to be a statistic.
CC gives birth to second child then dies from internal hemorrhaging.
