Tamia Taylor (21) found dead in the river weeks after she went missing after going on a Memphis riverboat cruise to celebrate her birthday

    https://wreg.com/news/local/riverboa...y-3-of-search/

A Memphis riverboat cruise company says they don?t think missing mother Tamia Taylor went overboard as she celebrated her 21st birthday aboard their boat Sunday, saying video shows her returning to the harbor on the boat.

Wednesday marked Day 3 in the search for Taylor, who boarded the Island Queen Booze Cruise in downtown Memphis to celebrate her birthday with some friends.
?We can confirm from video footage circling around that she was last seen on the boat as the boat was pulling into the Harbor, where we dock our boats. We have no reason to believe she could have gone overboard and we will be respecting MPD as they conduct their investigation. We hope she is found safe and returns home,? the company said in its statement.
Debra Taylor explained recently, ?The only thing they (her friends) told me was, she went upstairs on the second floor to use the bathroom. She put her phone down on the table. ?We picked her phone up, we went and waited by the door for her to come out and then we left.? Why would you leave? That makes no sense. Y?all came together, y?all stick together.?

If it shows her returning to the harbor, she didnt go overboard. Maybe decided she needed a break?

She returned to the harbor but no one saw her get off the boat. She went up to use the restroom and never came back. I still think it's possible she was drunk and fell overboard in the harbor and no one noticed.

Yep. That's probably what happened. Drunk people and water just don't mix. Not a good idea at all.

Yeah that makes the most sense.

Noooo cruises are amazing. The food is great, you can relax, its a good time.

Dont get tarded drunk, in a fight or piss off your spouse and you will be good.

When I think of a booze cruise, I think of the office. Anyone see that episode?

Body found near Mississippi River, missing woman’s family awaits ID

The Dock Ellis Foundation, a non-profit that assists minority crime victims, has stepped in to assist Tamia’s family. The foundation’s CEO, Jasmine Ellis, said they’ve been contributing to search and rescue efforts in the case, which have been paused while they wait for authorities to identify the body.

“They’ve definitely reached out to the family; however, until they are able to identify the body, there will be really no communication in regards to what’s going on with the body they recovered yesterday,” said Ellis. “So, we have not received any word. We just have to sit back and wait for the identification to happen.”

On Saturday the foundation released the following statement on behalf of Tamia’s family:

“Tamia Taylor’s mother asks that the community please, don’t give up as the individual retrieved … has not been identified, but continue to pray either way. We may not know if it’s Tamia, but it’s someone’s family member. The search must continue.”

Body found in Miss. River identified as missing 21-year-old Tamia Taylor

I think this is just a different twist on the old saga of drunk men going to pee and falling in the river, unfortunately. I hope her family has some closure by getting her body back.

Same. I keep seeing posts on FB about this being a crime. I feel horrible for her family and friends. What a tragic outcome.

I had a feeling her family would go down that road. I don't think there is anything suspicious in this.
