Danelo Cavalcante (34) stabbed Deborah Brandao (33) to death; he escaped prison by crab walking up a wall a month after he was convicted of life without the possibility of parole

Cavalcante killed Deborah, 33, in April 2021 by stabbing her 38 times in front of her then 7- and 4-year-old children, the Chester County district attorney?s office has said. She had filed a protection from abuse order against him the year prior, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Just days after his conviction last month, Cavalcante was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
But since Cavalcante?s escape, Sarah has been living in fear, she told CNN.

?I was desperate, desperate, very scared. I thought about my children, obviously,? Sarah said.

Sarah is worried Cavalcante could show up at her Chester County home and afraid he will come after her.

A convicted killer who escaped from an eastern Pennsylvania prison nearly two weeks ago was spotted again Monday night and is now armed with a weapon, police warned, calling for nearby residents to stay indoors and lock their doors.

The latest sighting of 34-year-old Danelo Cavalcante ? the first one reported since Saturday ? brings a heightened sense of danger as the search enters its 13th day Tuesday.
While few details about Monday night?s sighting were immediately released, it was the first time authorities said Cavalcante might be armed ? though he has repeatedly been described as dangerous.

Cavalcante was being held at Chester County Prison, in a rural area some 30 miles west of Philadelphia, following his conviction last month of first-degree murder for the killing of his former girlfriend, 33-year-old Deborah Brand?o. He escaped from custody August 31, launching the dayslong manhunt.

    Yeah, he's been fired.

A guard at Pennsylvania’s Chester County State Prison was fired this week after officials said the individual failed to spot convicted murderer Danelo Cavalcante’s escape, a source at the prison told the Philadelphia Inquirer, as the manhunt for Cavalcante enters its second week, and officials warn residents he is “extremely dangerous.”

The officer’s name was not disclosed, though the source told the Inquirer they had been working at the prison for 20 years.

The guard had been working in the prison’s observation tower the morning of August 31

The fugitive is armed: Cavalcante "is considered armed and extremely dangerous," Bivens said. He said Cavalcante has a .22 caliber rifle that he stole from a resident's garage overnight. That homeowner fired several shots at Cavalcante, but the fugitive is not believed to be injured. Police said they believe Cavalcante is “desperate enough” to use the stolen rifle. People living in the search perimeter have been asked to secure their homes.

This asshole already killed someone down in Brazil before all of this.

    https://abcnews.go.com/US/pennsylvan...y?id=103143670

A convicted murderer who had eluded capture since escaping from a Pennsylvania prison nearly two weeks ago is accused of committing a separate slaying in his home country of Brazil in 2017.

Danelo Cavalcante, 34, allegedly shot his friend Valter Junior Moreira dos Reis five times in the remote town of Figueir?polis in the northern Brazilian state of Tocantins in 2017. A motive for the alleged murder was unknown, according to documents from the Brazilian Ministry of Justice and Public Security.

A warrant was issued for Cavalcante's arrest on Nov. 13, 2017, but he had already fled Tocantins. State authorities had not sent the arrest order to the national warrant judiciary system, according to the documents.

    Yes

Convicted murderer and illegal alien Danelo Cavalcante is still on the run in Pennsylvania after escaping prison, altering his appearance, and now he’s armed following a violent home invasion.

Another inmate escaped from the same prison in exactly the same way in May. Prison building fail!

    https://www.npr.org/2023/09/07/11980...-a-prison-wall

FADEL: Maggie, this video that's being played everywhere of him crab walking his way up a prison wall and over the wall - I mean, watching it makes you think, how easy is it to escape Chester County Prison? I mean, this isn't the first time.

KENT: That's exactly right, Leila. This happened on May 19 with another inmate called Igor Bolte. He was able to do the same exact thing, stretching his arms and legs against the two sides of a wall and crab walking, essentially, as you mentioned, up to the roof, climbing down the roof and getting away. Now, in Igor Bolte's case in May, an officer who was in the tower, observation tower, was able to see him. And he was caught within five minutes. There's a question about what that officer in the observation tower was doing on August 31 because Cavalcante wasn't reported missing for an hour, until headcount happened and they were one person short.
