    Wrong place, wrong time?

Early Sunday morning in Rapid City, a two-vehicle collision resulted in one fatality, with the names of those involved yet to be disclosed pending family notification.

The incident occurred when a speeding 2003 Volkswagen Jetta, operating without headlights, collided with a marked Rapid City Police Department Dodge Durango making a left turn.

The 26-year-old Jetta driver suffered serious non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Monument Health Rapid City without a seatbelt.

The 27-year-old female Jetta passenger lost her life at the scene, also without wearing a seatbelt.

The 25-year-old male Durango driver sustained minor injuries.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is currently conducting an investigation into the crash. https://kornradio.com/latestnews/fat...aves-one-dead/

Kind of off topic, but has to do with a fatal crash. I belong to a local crime watch group on FB, and someone posted about a bad accident, a motorcyclist and it looked fatal. A girl who belonged to the group asked what color motorcycle, because her fiance was in that same area about that time.....cut to the next day, the girl posted and it turned out to actually be her fiance. I felt terrible, and what are the odds? Ugh.

Both without a seatbelt. I mean, I get the argument that SOMETIMES it can put you in danger to have one on. My Mom is only alive today (and my brother because she was pregnant at the time) because she WASN'T wearing a seatbelt, but nine times out of ten it will actually save you. A drunk driver hit her head on and she was thrown to the passenger side while the engine came right through the driver's side and landed on the seat. Cars these days though, they're built to withstand a lot more and you don't see engines going flying as much.
