I miss him already. I use to talk on the phone with Ted every few months, then he asked me for my address because he said he wanted to mail me something. He always used to joke like that.

‘Unabomber’ Ted Kaczynski died by suicide in prison medical center, AP sources say

Ted Kaczynski, known as the “Unabomber,” who carried out a 17-year bombing campaign that killed three people and injured 23 others, died by suicide, four people familiar with the matter told The Associated Press.

Kaczynski, who was 81 and suffering from late-stage cancer, was found unresponsive in his cell at the Federal Medical Center in Butner, North Carolina, around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday. Emergency responders performed CPR and revived him before he was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead later Saturday morning, the people told the AP. They were not authorized to publicly discuss Kaczynski’s death and spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity.

So he followed a similar path to his dad, committing suicide after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. I wonder what type of cancer he had?

Inside sources also told the tabloid that Kaczynski, who had late-stage cancer, suffered reddening of the skin from ear to ear and a deformed trachea.

Rigor mortis - which is the fourth stage of death when the limbs turn rigid - had also already set in, especially on his arms and legs.

I'm actually kind of surprised that it took him this long. I didn't think he would be able to stick it in prison after being a recluse. It's a shame because the dude was a literal genius and most of what he set out in his manifesto actually came to fruition or is going to happen eventually.
