Baby (11 months) dies in hot car while parents are at church

PALM BAY, Fla. (WESH) - Police in Florida are investigating the death of an 11-month-old baby who was left in a hot car for hours while her parents attended church.

Police got a call around 1 p.m. last Sunday about an unresponsive 11-month-old girl at the Mount of Olives Evangelical Baptist Church in Palm Bay.

When officers arrived, the baby was unresponsive in a vehicle. She was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to a police statement.

Police say the baby had accidentally been left in the car for around three hours while her parents attended church.
How could they not notice, for 3 hours, that their baby wasnt there? And what mass lasts 3 hours?

    The dad was the Pastor

Ok this makes no sense. They had other kids. So they were in the back seat.

My car makes a sound, and on the screen it says check back seats for occupants.

I don?t usually jump quick to judge parents in these situations but I don?t get how this one happened. No one at church asked them where their baby was? Your child didn?t cross your mind at church? I?m not religious but I feel like thoughts of your kids go hand in hand with listening to preaching. I haven?t stepped foot in a church in years but I feel like if I did one of the first things people would ask is where are you children?

Why would she think someone in the congregation would bring her kid in? So she knewthe kid could possibly be in there. You cant expect other people to be responsible for your kid. Sorry that just pisses me off.

Did she specifically ask or tell someone to get the baby or did she just assume someone would? That makes a difference to me. That poor baby :(

Right? I want more details. Did she call someone as she was arriving and say ?hey I?m running late can you run out here and grab the baby for me?? Or maybe she told one of her other kids ?go tell so and so to come get the baby? and it didn?t happen. Either way she had to have walked off without actually witnessing someone remove the baby from the car. And how big is this church? 3 hours went by and she didn?t see her baby? so did she assume someone had the baby in a separate Bible class or thought someone had the baby in the church nursery?

Was she not concerned that the baby might need a bottle or to be changed within three hours?

    Sorry. Not buying it.
