I agree. At this juncture, the search is for remains. I would love to think he is still alive, but he's been gone too long and the conditions where we went missing have been treacherous.

I hope the family can get some closure.
I saw that last night when I was reading pre-sleep. I hope for his family it is his remains and that will give them some amount of closure. This was a no hope situation but as long as he's still unfound they hold out a tiny glimmer of hope.
