My dad was a resident as a local hospital there and said gang members would just walk into the ER and "finish people off". There was this "carpet king" guy that was a locally known for his business. Yeah he was murdered right outside my parents apartment. Im surprised we made it out of there.
Wow, so it's not just me (and my friend Kathy) who feels this way? Sorry, no offense meant - I'm from NJ and wonder aloud about the number of bodies in the Jersey Pines. I don't think there is a state in the Union with a worse reputation than Jersey, but in my mind Missouri comes close.
Every time we drive through Missouri on one of our Great American Road Trips, Mr. Tisha shakes his head in disapproval when I make the basement comment. It's just a creepy state to me. But when we stop (only at well-lit rest stops on the interstates mind you) the people are always really friendly and outgoing. But as that sweet little old lady is ringing us up and smiling and chatting about our travel plans.... I always wonder how many women her husband has chained in the basement.
Angie, I'm glad you escaped. OfCorpseNot..... stay out of basements.
You are talking to a woman who has laughed in the face of death, sneered at doom and chuckled at catastrophe.
...Collector of Chairs. Reader of Books. Hater of Nutmeg...
So another body?

Authorities believe there may be another barrel in the Missouri River with more evidence linked to the case of a white man accused of kidnapping, raping and holding a Black woman captive in the basement of his suburban Kansas City home last year, officials said Thursday.
The announcement comes after the remains of a Black woman authorities described as a “potential witness” in the alleged kidnapping were found in a blue barrel in the river.
