    UPDATE: MPD has confirmed that the mother of the 2-day-old baby has been shot and killed. The infant is still missing.

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. ? A mother and her newborn baby have gone missing, according to police.

    Danielle Hoyle, 27, and her 2-day-old baby, Kennedy Hoyle were last seen in the area of Sedgewick Drive and Levi Road in Whitehaven.

    Family members say the last time they heard from Hoyle was when she was taking Kennedy to the hospital on Tuesday evening.

    Hoyle?s mother said a detective arrived at her residence late Tuesday to ask what car the woman drives and asked to identify her in a photo.

    The family says MPD also told them that they found a body near Hoyle?s abandoned car but did not confirm the identity at the time.

    ?They said there was an active crime scene. I don?t even know where it is. They said they were gonna do fingerprints, and again try to figure out if it?s her,? Hoyle?s mother said.

    The family says Hoyle also has another daughter.

    Since the baby wasn't found dead, I'm assuming someone that wanted to steal the baby. I'm confused with the timeline. She only had the baby the day before and was bringing it to the hospital? Did they release her with the baby the same day and have an appointment with the doctor the next day? I mean..... Wouldn't they just still be in the hospital? I know that they release them earlier and earlier these days, but if they were just coming back the next day why not just stay there? Did she have a home birth?

    Little details like these always bug me.

    Family members told WREG in Memphis that the last time they heard from Hoyle was Tuesday night and that she was taking her daughter to go get her shots.

    Police were told Kennedy was last seen with her mother, but they were unable to locate the baby.

    The victim was identified by KTLA sister station WREG as Danielle Hoyle. Her mother told the Memphis-area TV station that Hoyle — who also has a 10-year-old daughter — had been headed to the hospital, where the newborn was to undergo more testing.

    April Campbell said her daughter left home around 6 p.m., and she spoke with her about 90 minutes later. When they talked, Campbell asked Hoyle if she had arrived at the hospital yet.

    “She was like ‘Yea, mom. I’m trying to get the baby out the car and get her in the hospital,” Campbell recalled.

    That was the last time she spoke with her daughter, the station reported. Campbell tried calling and messaging her daughter multiple times after that, but she never received a response.

    Campbell has since been in contact with police about her daughter’s death and the baby’s disappearance.

    Father of missing newborn charged with murder

    The father of a newborn baby previously reported missing has now been accused of killing both her and her mother.

    Memphis Police say Brandon Isabelle, the father of 2-day-old Kennedy Hoyle, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, murder in the perpetration of aggravated kidnapping, and tamper/fabricating evidence in connection with the deaths of Kennedy and her mother, Danielle Hoyle.

    According to an arrest affidavit, Isabelle admitted to luring Danielle to an area and shooting her. Police say the man also admitted to taking the infant out of Danielle’s car, driving to a boat ramp, and tossing her into the water. He then threw the weapon into the Mississippi River and Wolf River Delta.
