The mother of a missing three-year-old boy has made a plea for help to find him.

A ute has been seized by police during a search for a missing three-year-old boy, who's family fears he may have been abducted from the family home in the Hunter region.

The vehicle was seized from a property at Bulga, 78 kilometres northeast of where Anthony 'AJ' Elfalak was last seen.

The boy went missing on the rural property at Yengo Drive, Putty, about 75 kilometres south of Singleton, on Friday, September 3. AJ, who has autism and is non-verbal, was last seen around 11.30am that day.

Items from an abandoned house about one kilometre from the boy's home have also been seized. The derelict shack was strewn with rubbish and has been declared an active crime scene, according to Channel 9.

Police have also seized petrol station CCTV from Colo Heights, about 40 minutes away.

Strike Force Jaylang has also been established as the large scale hunt for AJ reaches its third day.

A multi-agency response was launched on Friday with trail bike officers, Police Rescue, the Dog Unit, police divers, and Polair all attending the 650-acre property. But there has still been no sign of the missing child.

"I think he's been taken," his mother Kelly reportedly told 7 News. "If he was around here, I would've found him by now."

Alan Hashem, AJ's godfather who lives on the property next door, said the boy had "never wandered before" and the family has been at the farm for three months. He also spoke of a 'suspicious' vehicles seen just before the boy's disappearance.

"A suspicious vehicle was spotted outside on the farm's private road - right before AJ went missing," he said.

Mr Hashem said they will not stop looking until AJ is found.

"No words other than broken- we will not stop, until we find this precious boy!"

Police said they are investigating all lines of inquiry, including the suspicious vehicle.

"Police are absolutely looking into every angle possible in relation to AJ's disappearance," Superintendent Tracey Chapman said.

However, she said it was "too early" to say whether there was any basis in the theory he may have been abducted.

AJ is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, with short dark hair and is believed to be wearing a grey jumper and pants, and sneakers.

The search continues, and more than 100 emergency services volunteers have been assisting, but it was made difficult overnight with rain and cold temperatures.

A dam on the property has been drained and searched.

Thousands of social media messages of support have flooded the NSW Police Facebook page.

When contacted by news.com.au on Sunday afternoon, a police spokesperson declined to comment.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report crime via NSW Police social media pages.

Family friend reveals CCTV footage has vanished, as search for missing three-year-old continues

    By Natassia Chrysanthos
    September 6, 2021 ? 9.48am

The godfather of a three-year-old boy who vanished from a rural property in the Hunter region has revealed there is missing CCTV footage from the time period the child disappeared and says his family believes ?without a doubt? he has been abducted.

The search for Anthony ?AJ? Elfalak, who is non-verbal and has autism, has resumed for a fourth day on Monday after police seized a white ute as part of their investigations on Sunday evening.

The parents of AJ, Anthony and Kelly Elfalak, reported the boy missing from their home on Yengo Drive at Putty, south-west of Singleton, on Friday morning when he disappeared after playing with his brothers.

Family friend Alan Hashem, who was at the property on the day AJ went missing and is the family?s spokesman, told Nine?s Today Show on Monday that the family was ?piecing the puzzle? together, but he said there was ?one key factor? they had not yet disclosed to the media.

?I installed cameras on that post right there,? Mr Hasham said, pointing upwards. ?There?s footage missing, unexplained. [It?s there for] days before, days after, but not during the time.

?And you know what?s more alarming? We installed it so high, you can?t tamper with it. And we had two mechanisms of storage ? cloud storage, and physical storage. And there?s no data in that timeslot.?

A friend of the family of missing boy AJ Elfalak has spoken about how the family is coping.

Mr Hashem said the family had provided usernames and passwords to police, but ?without a doubt? believe that AJ had been abducted.

?[We believe that] for the simple reason that he is on the spectrum of autism,? Mr Hashem said. ?He?s always quite afraid and very attached to his mum ... and he?s never wandered.?

Mr and Mrs Elfalak moved to the Hunter property with their four sons around the end of June for a three-month stint after Mr Elfalak?s work as a plumber dried up during Sydney?s lockdown. Mr Hashem lives on the farm next door.

?My best friend Anthony, he?s one of the most loving and caring people out there ... It all became a bit too much for him, with the lockdowns [so] he thought ?let?s take a break? and moved out here,? Mr Hashem said.

?I can assure you there?s no one [who would want to do this to him] ... You don?t understand how much pain and anguish this family is feeling... The mother is not coping and the father is holding it together by a thread.?

Trail bikes, sniffer dogs, horses, helicopters and police divers scoured the remote 650-acre farm, which has 15 dams flanked by dense bushland, over the weekend. One of the dams was drained by an excavator on Sunday morning, while Mr and Mrs Elfalak spent the day searching their property for AJ in a private helicopter.

The search effort will continue on Monday. The boy is non-verbal and has short, dark hair. He was wearing a grey jumper and pants and sneakers when he disappeared on Friday.

Kim Grace, the owner of a Singleton cafe that the Elfalak family frequented, told radio station 2GB on Monday that ?we?re all distraught?.

?They?re a beautiful family, I?ve known them for many, many years... If we can just get everybody looking, looking, looking for our baby, [that?s the message],? she said.

Mr Hashem described the day AJ vanished as ?a typical afternoon?. ?The mother was preparing lunch, I was assisting, sitting on the hammock ... the kids were outside playing. The two eldest boys, Michael and Patrick, were in charge of looking after their brother, although their father was also outside fixing one of the quad bikes,? he said.

?The eldest boy needed to go to the bathroom. [He took] AJ who he was babysitting at the time while the mum was preparing the lunch, and he left him just inside the dining area.

?After a few minutes the boys come out and entered through the other part of the house, and the mother goes: ?where?s AJ???

Mr Hashem said it was at that moment he noticed a white ute slowly driving down Yengo Drive, by the property. ?We didn?t think much of it,? Mr Hasham said. ?We instantly dispatched all the ATVs, four of them, and just covered about a thousand metres each direction.?

White ute seized from Hunter Valley property in search for missing boy

Police confirmed on Sunday evening that they had seized a ute from a property at Bulga, a village which is about 78 kilometres north-east of where the three-year-old child was last seen. They also seized CCTV footage from a service station at Colo Heights, which is about 40 minutes drive south of Putty towards Sydney.

NSW police superintendent Tracy Chapman said all angles were being explored in the investigation. ?We?re following up any leads of inquiry that we might have, ensuring that everything is pursued by our investigators,? she said on Sunday. Police have not yet issued an amber alert for a child abduction emergency.

AJ's in the same age range as William Tyrrell. & they're both missing after playing outside in a regional NSW town north of Sydney. Kendall, the town William disappeared from is hours further north, but the town where the ute was seized is in between Putty & Kendall.

I hope it's just a shitty coincidence & they find this little kid wandering in the bush

Just to get an idea of the areas in question - the first screenshot is Putty to Kendall. The second is Balga to Kendall

Scenes of joy as missing 3yo boy found after four days
    ABC Upper Hunter /
By Jake Lapham and Sarah Gerathy

Scenes of elation as the family of missing boy notified he has been found alive.

Three-year-old Anthony 'AJ' Elfalak has been found in a deep gully in rugged bushland four days after he vanished on his family's rural New South Wales property.

Aerial pictures captured the moment that the boy, wrapped in a foil blanket, was carried by paramedics through the bush and into a waiting ambulance.

Outside the family home at Putty, near Singleton, NSW, the boy's extended family whooped, hollered, sang and danced as they celebrated the news that he had been found alive.

His grandmother sunk to her knees, and threw her hands into the air praising police and the volunteers who had helped in the search.

"The police called me, they found AJ ? he's alive and very good," she said.

Another relative sobbed as he embraced AJ's older brothers, crying "we found him boys, we found him!"

Relatives crowded around an iPhone to watch a video of the toddler, who has autism and is non verbal, being cradled by his mother inside an ambulance.

"He's with his mum, he's with his mum," they cried.

One of the boy's uncles, Louis Elfalak, said it was a "miracle" that the toddler had been found alive.

"Everyone started losing hope, thinking the worst," he said.

    "It's unbelievable."

He said the three-year-old had been found in a "massive gully" on the property and would be taken to hospital.

"I can't wait to see him. I can't wait to hug him ... he's a champion," he said.

The boy's godfather, Alan Hashem, described the family's anguish during the search.

"This has been a living nightmare for us, we haven't eaten, we haven't slept," Mr Hashem said.

    Massive search

During the past four days, the police airwing, dog squad, divers, the mounted unit and hundreds of SES and RFS personnel searched rugged terrain for the child.

On Sunday, police seized a white ute, which the family said was seen in the area at the time AJ went missing on Friday from the family's 263-hectare property off Yengo Drive.

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said she was delighted to hear AJ had been found.

"I think all of us have been crossing everything to make sure AJ is brought back safely ... it's a much-needed good news in otherwise difficult circumstances," she said.

AJ's distraught uncle Steven Kassis on Sunday said family members feared the child had been abducted.

Agreed. The whole "the camera footage is missing from the specific time that he happened to go missing" had me convinced that the family did something to him.

Police investigation continues after missing boy AJ Elfalak is found alive in NSW bushland

Vision captures the three-year-old drinking from a creek.

The discovery of a missing three-year-old, who has autism and is non-verbal, has been praised as good news, but investigators must now examine all reasonable theories about how and why the boy disappeared.

Anthony ?AJ? Elfalak was reunited with his family three days after he vanished from their remote rural property at Putty on Friday.

On Monday he was found sitting in a puddle, drinking water from a creek bed about half a kilometre from his home by a rescue helicopter which then directed ground search crews to his location.

7NEWS can reveal Strike Force Raptor - a police operation targeting OMCGs and any associated criminal enterprises - was among the groups assisting with the missing persons investigation.

Superintendent Tracy Chapman on Monday afternoon said inquiries would continue ?to try to understand what has occurred over the past three days?.

?I know everyone has lots of questions,? she told reporters.

While police are open to the idea that AJ simply wandered off, 7NEWS can reveal they are also examining whether there might be a sinister reason to abduct the boy and target the family.

Earlier this week, AJ?s father Anthony Elfalak had said: ?A kid just doesn?t pick up and disappear.?

Family friend Alan Hashem had also said, ?there?s no other reasonable explanation than that it?s an abduction?.

His mother Kelly was also adamant her son is ?not a wanderer? and feared he was taken.

Other oddities appeared through the search - a four-hour window of CCTV footage at the time AJ disappeared was somehow lost, and it took two hours for the family to tell police about a mysterious white ute on the property.

Superintendent Chapman had said: ?I don?t understand what has happened with some footage, however, it is subsequently part of our inquiries.?

Police are also curious how, for three nights, thermal imaging from the air did not spot the boy close to home while questions also arise over how AJ remarkably has a few scratches on him after three days in cold, dark, rugged conditions.

?Please give our family the privacy to appreciate what we have.?

Just hours after AJ was found, his family issued a statement to thank police, rescue crews, family and friends but requested privacy during this time.

?Our family is together again. For that we are grateful to everyone who has assisted in any way over the last three days,? it read.

?Thank you to the NSW Police, Rescue Services, volunteers, community members, friends and family who have worked tirelessly to find AJ.

?AJ is fine. Hold your kids close.

?Please give our family the privacy to appreciate what we have.?

This is the vid from the chopper crew that found him. The SES they're referring to are State Emergency Services, they're a volunteer force who get called out to help with storm damage, natural disasters etc, & searches like this one. They're the ones in orange overalls in one of the earlier article pix
