Headless body, with hands and feet missing, found in Southwest Baltimore

The dismembered body of a woman was found Monday in Southwest Baltimore, police confirmed.

Two employees of a nearby company walking through the 1600 block of Morrell Park Ave., a dead-end street in the Morrell Park neighborhood, reported seeing what they believed to be a body around 10:30 a.m.

When police arrived, they found the body under a ?some type of tarp,? a spokesman said. The body was decomposing, and was missing the head, feet and hands.

Police have not been able to identify the victim yet. Because the circumstances of the death are unknown, the case is being treated as a ?suspicious death.?

Anyone with information was asked to call homicide detectives at 410-396-2100.

The area where the body was found used to be overgrown, but neighbors said it was recently cleared out and a motion detector light was installed. Signs on a few homes near the end of the street warn interlopers that they are being recorded by security cameras, though no cameras appeared to be visible.

Rob Batzri, the operations manager of a sink distributor in the area, said he and his boss found the body as they were surveying the company?s property. He said it was clear that there were parts of the body missing, enough that they weren?t sure what they were looking at at first.

?It was very surprising ? sort of surreal,? Batzri said. ?It looked like it had been there for awhile, or someone had recently came and dropped it off.?

I can't imagine the nightmare of finding a decomposed body, let alone a dismembered one. How would you get that image out of your head?
You are talking to a woman who has laughed in the face of death, sneered at doom and chuckled at catastrophe.

Investigators are probing link between foot found in Maryland and a headless torso found 40 miles more than two months later

Police in Maryland are working to determine whether body parts found 40 miles apart over the past two months may belong to the same body.

A local found a human foot while walking down Lusby Lane in Brandywine on September 3 of last year, the Prince George's County Police Department shared.

And then less than three months later on November 30, a woman's torso was found wrapped in a tarp on a dead-end road in the Morrell Park neighborhood in Southwest Baltimore, the Baltimore Sun reports.

The two body parts were found roughly 40 miles from each other.

Baltimore Police have not been able to identify the victim and have released no further information relating to the torso.

The two agencies have confirmed, however, that they are working together on the investigations.

Detectives working for Prince George 'have uncovered no evidence suggesting a crime occurred in our jurisdiction related to the discovery of the body part last September,' police said.

Anyone with information pertaining to the body parts are asked to call Prince George's County detectives at 301-516-2512 or Baltimore homicide detectives at 410-396-2100.
