Marisela Botello (23) missing from Dallas, TX since 10/2/2020

Friends and family in Seattle are desperately hoping for the safe return of 23-year-old Marisela Botello. Botello visited Dallas the first weekend in October and hasn?t been seen since the last night of her trip.

Friends and family haven?t heard from Botello since the early morning hours of Monday, October 5th, when she was supposed to return home to Seattle.

Her family says Botello arrived in Dallas on Oct. 2 to visit an ex-boyfriend and was scheduled to return.

?We were just trying to spread the word, we want some answers, we want to bring our friend home,? Patrick Helmbrecht said. ?She would definitely get ahold of one of her friends or family for sure. She?s on her social media a lot and it?s 2020 so it?s not hard to get ahold of somebody if they were well.?

Helmbrecht made the drive from Seattle looking for Botello. He spent his Sunday hanging posters in Deep Ellum.

Her family has a Lyft receipt showing she was dropped off on Elm Street just after midnight on Monday morning, Oct. 5. She went to the Deep Ellum bar Select Start and surveillance video captured her leaving the bar wearing a purple dress. The 23-year-old Hispanic woman hasn?t been seen since.

?One timestamped 1:15 a.m. shows her leaving with a guy,? said Marisela's aunt Dennesly Castillo.

Castillo said she was able to get into her niece's T-Mobile account and determine that Botello used her phone at 4 a.m.

?And from there she just never came back,? Castillo said. ?And that?s around the same time also that we saw the last cell phone activity, last time her debit card was ever used.?

?Her flight was Monday morning and she never returned,? Castillo said. ?Today has been a week and there?s no sign of her.?

Her family says she has distinctive features, including a mole on the center of her neck and a tattoo on her right hand.

The family has filed a police report with the Dallas Police Department and has been assigned a detective to their case.

Botello?s family and friends have flown into Dallas throughout the week to search for the Seattle native.

?She?s not a new traveler, which is why this is all so odd to us that this happened to her, because she?s always in contact, always in contact with the family, at least one of us letting us know what she?s doing,? Castillo said. ?So for us to not know anything, she fell off the face of the earth, it?s completely, it?s worrisome, we know that something is wrong.?

Helmbrecht said he will continue searching this week for Botello.

?I just been hanging posters up and going to all the local bars and restaurants around here and seeing if they can hand it out to their staff and post it on their social media for me,? Helmbrecht said. ?She?s just good people. Never done anyone wrong.?

If you have any idea about Botello?s whereabouts, please call the Dallas Police Department at 214-671-4243.

?Hopefully we get to bring her home,? Helmbrecht said. ?We just want some answers at the very least, what?s going on, where she?s at.?

A Seattle woman has been missing for more than three weeks after taking a Lyft for a night out alone while on a trip to Dallas, Texas, her family said.

Marisela Botello, 23, was last seen in the early hours of Oct. 5 going out in the nightlife district of Deep Ellum for what was supposed to be the final night of her stay with her boyfriend, NBC program “Dateline” reported.

“She was scheduled to fly back to Seattle that Monday,” her aunt, Dennesly Castillo, told the program. “But she never made the flight. And she hasn’t returned home.”

Castillo said Botello’s boyfriend told the family that he had not wanted to go out that night so she decided to go out alone.

But when she didn’t return, he became concerned and contacted her parents, the outlet reported.

Botello had left behind all of her belongings at his home, except for a cellphone and a debit card, the report said.

Her family said they were able to access her email and discovered the Lyft receipt showing she was dropped off in the Deep Ellum area just after midnight on Oct. 5.

Meanwhile, phone records showed that her cellphone was last used a few hours later around 4 a.m.

“That to me is a huge red flag,” Castillo said. “She’s 23 and hasn’t used her phone for social media or texts or anything in three weeks? It makes no sense. We’re just really worried that something happened to her.”

Castillo said they obtained security footage from a bar in the area and saw Botello leaving with an unknown man around 1 a.m.

Police have not verified the tape and declined to release further details in Botello’s disappearance, “Dateline” reported.

“Detectives are currently investigating all workable leads and communicating with Ms. Botello’s family,” Dallas police Detective Ryan Dalby said.

Dallas police are asking for help finding two people, a Seattle woman last seen in Deep Ellum and a man who police say may know something about her whereabouts.

Family members say 23-year-old Marisela Botello Valadez was last seen Oct. 5 in Dallas.

That's the same day Dallas police said a person of interest in her disappearance, Charles Beltran, was also last seen driving his car, a black 2014 Audi A6 with Texas license plate MJG 3114.
She said surveillance video showed her leaving the Select Start Arcade and Bar shortly after 1 a.m. with a man the family doesn't believe she knew.

Dallas police haven't verified the existence of that video.

With Botello's belongings left behind at the house where she'd been staying and a missed return flight home to Seattle, Castillo doesn't believe she disappeared willingly.

"She had a good job, a good life out here. She was just visiting. She likes to travel. That's what she does, so she wasn't running away from a bad situation. She's absolutely in some sort of danger," said Castillo.

Botello is described as Hispanic with black hair and brown eyes. She stands between 5 feet 2 inches and 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs about 130 pounds.

She was last seen wearing a metallic purple dress.

Volunteers continue to hold search parties in Deep Ellum on Saturday mornings between 8 and 10 a.m.

Anyone with information about either Beltran or Valadez's location is asked to call the Dallas Police Department at 911 or 214-671-4268.
