SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - St. Joseph County Metro Homicide has arrested someone for the shooting of two women who were involved in the rollover crash scene Friday.

Officials arrested Kalekeni Lindeire, 37, for murder and attempted homicide.

The crash happened near the intersection of Edison and Hickory in South Bend.

The incident happened around 3 p.m. Friday.

Officers found two women inside the rolled over vehicle. Both of the women had been shot.

Noria Mtambalika, 29, died at the hospital.

Another woman, Mtambalika's sister, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say two sisters were driving into the Hickory Village Apartments when they noticed Lindeire, who is one of the sister's ex boyfriend's, sitting in his car. Lindeire approached them at a high speed and began firing multiple shots at the sisters' car. He continued following the sisters throughout the complex firing multiple shots. Mtambalika drove out of the complex, lost control of the car. Her sister tried to take control and eventually crashed into the shopping center.

The sister said Lindeire followed them to the shopping center and then dragged her away from the crashed vehicle. The sister was able to run away but was shot at again.

Surveillance video from the scene shows the sister ducking in between cars.

Lindeire is also charged with rape and kidnapping from an incident on Sept. 23.

Mishawaka Police were called to N. Main St. Wednesday night for reports of a rape.

The victim told police that Lindeire woke her up inside of her home and then forced her into a car. The victim told police that Lindeire threatened to kill her if she screamed of moved. Lindeire drove the victim back to her house and then raped her.

The Prosecutor's Office was in the process of completing that paperwork when Sept. 25 homicide occurred and Mr. Lindeire was subsequently arrested.

The sentencing range for Murder is 45 to 65 years. The sentencing range for a Level 1 Felony is 20 to 40 years. The sentencing range for a Level 6 Felony is 1/2 to 2 1/2 years.
