    Still missing

The Travis County Sheriff's Office (TCSO) is asking for the public's help finding 36-year-old Sara Joy Davis.

Davis left her two children with their father at his home on Aug. 27 and told him she was going to visit a friend, but never returned, TCSO said. A spokesperson for TCSO said Davis was last seen in the Wells Branch neighborhood in North Austin.

Davis also missed an appointment with her children on Aug. 31, and her family reported her missing. A friend of Davis's told KVUE she does not believe Davis would just leave her children.

On September 2, 2020, TCSO reached out to the public for help locating Sara Davis, 36 who was last seen in the Wells Branch neighborhood when she dropped her children off at their father’s home on August 27.

TCSO’s investigation revealed Sara had recently been in the company of a man named Marlon Ray Burleson. Burleson is wanted on a felony warrant for Aggravated Assault - Deadly Weapon: Family Violence. Detectives immediately extended their search to include him as a person of interest.

Friday afternoon, US Marshals tracked Burleson to a house in San Antonio. When they moved in to make an arrest, Burleson fled on foot. Sara Davis was inside the residence. Burleson remains at large.

Davis is cooperating with law enforcement and detectives are working to piece together the events that transpired since she was last seen by family and friends.
TCSO is grateful to the public for calling in tips and actively searching for Sara Davis throughout the weeks she was missing. No on-camera interviews will be offered at this time.
