A woman was killed late Wednesday night when she became trapped in her car that had caught on fire after she was involved in a street racing crash, police said.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified her on Thursday as Carolyn Milner, 29, of Vernon.

Officers responded to a report of a major crash involving a car on fire around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of University Drive and Log Cabin Village Lane, police spokesperson Officer Daniel Segura said in an email. They found the car engulfed in flames.

The woman was the only person in the car, and she had apparently become “trapped in the vehicle,” Segura said. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

Witnesses told police the car was racing with another vehicle before it crashed into a curb, Segura said.
Yikes. Sounds like a terrible way to go.
