    OLATHE, Kan. ? One person has died after being hit by a train in Olathe.

    The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. Friday evening near 151st and Keeler streets.

    According to the Johnson County Sheriff?s Office, one person was hit on the tracks and died at the scene.

    No other information has been released about the victim. The investigation is ongoing.

    FOX4 has a crew headed to the scene and will update this story as more information is confirmed.

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. ? UPDATE, Aug. 13 | The victim was identified as 30-year-old Levi Truesdale of Olathe.

    ORIGINAL STORY, Aug. 7 | One person was struck and killed by a train Friday evening in Olathe.

    The unidentified man, who Olathe police said is believed to be in his 20s, was struck by a train around 8:30 p.m. on the tracks near West 151st Terrace and South Keeler Street.

    According to police, the man has long brown hair.

    Levi Truesdale- Torgenson age 30 of Kansas City, MO died Friday August 7, 2020.

    Levi was born August 6, 1990 in Manhattan, KS.

    He attended school in Olathe.

    After high school, he worked in construction. Levi hung drywall, climbed cell phone towers, and did handyman duties and auto repair.

    Levi loved to be outside and on the go. As long as he had his boots on, he was ready to go. He wanted to see the world. Levi’s dream was to live in the woods and have a log cabin. He was a very special person that will be missed by all who knew him. He would help anyone with anything, you just had to ask.

    He is survived by his parents Candi and Travis Hummel, Keith and Amanda Truesdale, Ray and Alaina Torgenson. Sisters: Crystal Truesdale-Torgenson, Mady Hummel, Heather Jenkins Brother: Jeremy Barefield. Grandparents: Helen Webber (Mike Ammen), John Webber (Rhonda), Robin Evans (Brad), John Truesdale (Joyce Sanders), Raymond and Joyce Torgenson. Along with other family and friends.

    Levi battled the demons of mental illness all of his whole adult life while he tried to be strong and live a good life. In lieu of flowers please make a contribution in his name to The Link in Olathe, a local organization that helped him so much. Special thanks to Barb from the Salvation Army for her help, as well.
