Teen sentenced to 53 years for killing schoolmate who showed interest in her boyfriends
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (AP) â€” A teenager was sentenced to 53 years in prison Tuesday for killing a new schoolmate who showed interest in boys she had dated.

Judge James Teros called the killing "a murder over nothing."

Sarah Kolb, 18, had been convicted in February of first-degree murder and concealing a homicide in the death last year of Adrianne Reynolds, 16. Kolb's ex-boyfriend pleaded guilty to the same charges.

Kolb read a statement to the judge after witnesses testified that she was a good friend and student who endured a tough upbringing that included being locked in her room as punishment and being harassed because of her bisexuality.

Kolb said such experiences left her numb, unable to experience emotion.

"I was so good at not feeling that I felt no feeling as she died," Kolb said.

Prosecutors said Kolb and Cory Gregory killed Reynolds in Kolb's car over their school lunch hour, then took the body to Kolb's grandparents' farm and burned it.

The pair returned two days later with a third teen and sawed the body into pieces, dumping some remains on the farm and burying the rest in a state park, according to prosecutors.

Defense attorney David Hoffman sought the minimum 20-year sentence, saying Kolb was just 16 at the time of the killing and not mature enough to make sound decisions.

Gregory is seeking to withdraw his guilty plea and stand trial after being sentenced in July to the maximum 45 years in prison allowed under a plea agreement. Gregory, 18, is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 21.

The third teen pleaded guilty last year to concealing a homicide and was sentenced to an indeterminate time in a juvenile detention center.

Wowww what a fucking dumb bitch.Its bad enough they killed her but they had to BURN her body & then saw it into pieces?! And give me damn break,she wasnt 'mature' enough to know what she did.At 16 you know that killing someone & BURNING thier body & SAWING it into pieces-ISNT a good idea!!!!!!! 

So basically,she ruined her whole life.In prison for 53 yrs.Hahah I hope she gets a beating everyday & is tortured :-D

Thats some crazy Sh!t right there, it reminds me of the Shanda Sharer story. Theres a book about it that im almost done reading. Shanda is murdered by 4 girls because shanda was interested/hooking up with melissas ex girlfriend. Melissa is one of the murderers. In this case its a psycho lesbian who kills her, sad part is shanda is like 13 or 14, she was a freshman in highschool i believe!

check it out on crime library i read some on it there as well.

no she was 14 and confused pretty much, the other chick like talked her into being a lesbo kinda...it's an odd story...she had ahd a boyfriend orginally, and her "girlfriend" had threatened her and such, so she left the boy i believe, but always wanted to go back...i don't know i write it up to a confused little girl

This story reminded me of a movie I saw on Lifetime once.  It's the story of Michelle Avila who was killed by her best friend, who then moves in with her mother.  I did some digging on the internet and found this story, this is so so sad.
