DTTAM: Hard ass water. This area has the hardest damn water I've ever seen. We've been here less than two months and I've gone through 4 gallons of vinegar and its not keeping the limescale at bay. I'm going to have to just buy CLR I guess. I can only imagine what it is doing to my washing machine. I had to buy special shampoo because it was tearing up my hair.

Hubby is going to try again to kill the hive. He will wear his winter snow suit and protect his hands with safety gloves. He plans to use some left over mosquito netting for his face. I read that their hive dies off in the winter, so eventually they will be gone.
Do you have a local vector control department you could call? That's what I do if I find yellow jackets on or near my property.

I would assume it's like animal control. I don't know about your area, but here in LA they told me that they don't handle bees etc that I would have to call a bee keeper to do the job.

No vector control here. Hubby goes out nightly to pour stuff down the hole. There are far fewer yellow jackets hovering around the area, so hopefully his persistence is paying off. He thought tonight he would bite the bullet and and dig up the nest.

The driveway is off limits for now.

Nothing like dog sitting only to find out said dog has fleas. Now my poor cats are miserable. I hate having to give them chemicals to get rid of them but nothing else seems to be working.

So I have this in my county, http://www.contracostamosquito.com

I never knew they existed, either, until I had the yellow jacket problem and a neighbor suggested I call. They took care of it in a day!

Are these the other people in the group?

Why do the two phrases have to be connected? I just stated two phrases that irk me, that's all.

I ways found the phrase "it is what it is" to be annoyingly trite.

I actually just ordered some of that stuff. My poor older cat has given herself an abscess from chewing on her leg. Really hoping that this stuff works. I hate giving them the chemical medications. Though my vet swears Frontline is safe. :\

Totally! I never understood the point of it and it just irritates me when I hear people say it. I could mention some words that I hate, but then I'll just sound like a bigger weirdo than I already am.

A friend of mine had her husband build her a bug free haven in their backyard, because she's allergic to bees and other stings. It's basically like a gazebo with that netting around it that closes with magnets....hopefully you know the netting I'm talking about.

I just got bit twice by a spider..... I am so upset. I LOVE the house we live in however our room is not built to code. It is an add on and it is all wood. We get spiders all the time. I went to pull on a pair of pants on the ground and he bit me twice in the ass. Not cool. I threw the pants off and I tossed a shirt on top. Then stomped a few times. I am afraid to,go see what kind of spider it was. My husband can go identify the fucker when he gets home. I took some before photos just Incase it gets bad... Any idea how hard it is to take a photo of your own ass pregnant is? Lol

Bees fly. They walk. They are able to get to places. Like your pants.

That bee still has its stinger though doesn't it? It couldn't have stung you if it has its stinger still.

    That bee doesn't look stomped.

Can one bee sting multiple times? I always thought they couldn't but maybe thats one of those myths.
