A couple of kids down the street pick on my kid, so Ive kinda become the neighborhood bitch. Yesterday, I found a wadded up piece of gum on my windshield and today I think someone threw a glass of milk at it.

That's why I always have a "junk mail" address. When I order something or respond to a survey they get the hotmail address. I can go in and get my tracking info or whatever, but the special offers never make it to the real mail box.

It super annoys me that I can't go to a bar by myself. I would feel like an idiot if I did. So instead I just don't go and sit at home instead. Still feeling like an idiot.

Why would you feel like an idiot? It's easy. Just bring something to read or do. It does depend on the bar. I live near some that are very friendly. I can bring paperwork or whatever and no one cares. Occasionally someone will annoy me, but typically I wind up either doing my thing or having some interesting conversation with neighborhood people. However, the other night I was waiting for a dinner group and arrived too early so I waited in the seedy bar next door (the restaurant didn't serve alcohol/bar). Very different vibe. I got leered at, but I didn't get shanked and that made me happy. I wouldn't recommend that type of place for you.

I'm weird though. I just like my own company, so it works for me.

Ohh. Well, I just walk, but I get what you're trying to say. Some people, especially females, just are not comfortable going to pubs alone. It's not a matter of transportation. I think many feel as though it's still taboo. Or they just feel like they're being judged. I'm guessing here because I really don't get it, but I know chicks like that. Personally, I dig it and often end up having a better time than when I go with friends. One of my single friends goes to bars alone to meet dudes, friends, and clients.

i went to bars alone a lot. i would bring my work presentations with me and study. i also really like playing pool. when i wasn't up on the table, i enjoyed being around other people (even though i was studying) who could distract me when i needed a break. if i was at home, i probably would've gotten less done because i would've taken a break and never gotten back to work!
