Five months ago today, Susan Morrissey Ledyard?s body was found in the Brandywine River, a calm body of water that snakes through her home city of Wilmington, Delaware. In November, after months of investigation, the beloved high school teacher?s death was ruled a homicide.

My first thought was she was meeting someone (possibly having an affair) but I feel like the police would've been able to find this out by now if it were the case. So odd.

I wonder if the boyfriend has been ruled out?

This reminds me of the case of the killer truck driver who was parking at rest stops and walking to nearby neighborhoods, breaking into homes, and murdering women. Anyone remember this? One of the murders was in NJ and I think one was in Pennsylvania. I want to say he was captured in New England somewhere.

Anyway..... one of his murders was this exact same scenario. She stayed up late after her husband went to bed, she was out on the patio texting friends into the early hours of the morning. The husband was a suspect for a long time until the truck driver was caught (he either had a "souvenir" or confessed to the murder). Wish I could remember what case this was, I'm sure we have a thread.

You are talking to a woman who has laughed in the face of death, sneered at doom and chuckled at catastrophe.

I am just curious as to why she went out so late.....it almost seems like she was going to meet someone. Or, her boyfriend had something to do with this.
