As of Friday morning, police spokesman Sam Clemens said he does not know whether there's anything suspicious about the situation at this point. Officers have received several tips since Wednesday, but have not managed to find her yet, he said.

A relative called police and reported her missing, he said.

"She basically left, and that's unusual behavior for her," Clemens said. "She doesn't just do that, so there was some concerns."

Initially, the report was made to just try and find her and make sure she was OK, Clemens said. Then detectives reached out to him yesterday and asked for the public's help.

If you see Armstrong or her car, please call 911.

"We just want to find her and make sure she's OK," Clemens said. "The bigger thing is it's very unusual for this type of behavior. There are some people who kind of maybe need a break from others, but she wasn't one of them. She kept in contact, but they haven't heard from her."

I'm one of those people. I think it would take a couple of days for me to be "missed." I hope they find her soon.

It has been several weeks since a member of the Sioux Falls community was reported missing. Angela Armstrong was reported missing at the beginning of June.

Deb Liening, Armstrong's mom, describes her daughter as a kind and loving mother to three kids.

"Please, we need her at home. I don't know where she could be. But if she's listening, I want her home. I want her home, and her children want her home and her family wants her home," said Liening.

Liening says she is living her worst fear as a parent. Her 45-year-old daughter was reported missing on June 3rd. Armstrong had left her home around midnight and told her thirteen-year-old son that she'd be back soon.

"At about 5:30, you know no one had heard from her and that's when I called the Sioux Falls Police and reported her missing because she would not have gone and left (her son) there, home alone for that period of time," said Liening.

Armstrong is originally from Iowa. Her family has been searching and putting flyers up throughout Iowa and South Dakota.

Sioux Falls police say they found the vehicle belonging to missing Sioux Falls woman Angela Armstrong as well as an unidentified body next to the vehicle on Tuesday.

Armstrong was first reported missing by a relative on June 3, and police have been searching for her and her vehicle since.

Her dark grey 2017 Chevy Traverse was found inside a garage in the 6500 block of South Beal Avenue on Tuesday afternoon, according to a press release from the police department. An Argus Leader reporter on scene says police are focused on a garage at an apartment building.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday, the release states.

The "Missing Angela Armstrong" Facebook page posted Tuesday afternoon that Armstrong was found dead.

Sioux Falls police provided more information about the discovery of Angela Armstrong’s vehicle at the briefing on Wednesday.

Armstrong hasn’t been seen since June 3; police found her Chevy Traverse in a garage on South Beal Avenue on Tuesday.

Police spokesman Sam Clemens says the call for a strong “unusual” odor came in around 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. When police responded, they found the vehicle and an unidentified body in a garage at an apartment complex.

The garage did not belong to Armstrong; police say there isn’t any indication as to why Armstrong’s vehicle was at the apartment complex. However, Clemens says she did live in the area.

Clemens says an autopsy and toxicology report is being done on the body. He says although there are social media posts saying Armstrong has been found, police aren’t speculating. However, he says the height and weight of Armstrong and the found body do “match up.”

Authorities have identified the body that was that was found in a southwestern Sioux Falls apartment garage as Angela Armstrong, a woman who has been missing since early June.

Armstrong was found inside a garage Tuesday afternoon at an apartment building in southwestern Sioux Falls after someone called police to report a strong odor. Her body was found near her vehicle that had also been previously reported as missing.

An autopsy was conducted Wednesday, though the manner and cause of death have yet to be determined, police spokesman Sam Clemens said in a news release.

Armstrong lived "in the area" of the apartment building, but police spokesman Sam Clemens said it wasn't known how Armstrong was connected to the specific apartment building in the 6500 block of S. Beal Avenue. Clemens said the garage did not belong to Armstrong.

Management of the apartment complex, a Lloyd Companies property, notified residents Wednesday about the investigation.

“The authorities do not believe there was any indication of foul play, and the community is in no danger whatsoever,” the email read.

Clemens could not confirm the apartment management's email regarding a determination on foul play. But police have not identified any "obvious trauma" or "suspicious circumstances" surrounding Armstrong's death, he said.
