Arlington police asked for help Wednesday to find a hit-and-run driver who killed a 30-year-old father on an Arlington street.
Luiz Cisneros was struck by an unknown vehicle early Monday in front of his Arlington home. He died Monday afternoon at a local hospital.
As of Wednesday, Arlington police had no leads on the hit-and-run driver.
?A loving father lost his life in a hit in run leaving behind 2 brothers & 3 sisters, his 8 yr old son and his dog scrappy of 12 years,? according to a GoFundMe account created for Cisneros? family.
Friends and family members had raised $2,890 as of Wednesday morning. Their goal is $8,500.
The fatal accident was reported shortly before 2:30 a.m. Monday in the 1200 block of Darlene Lane in Arlington.
When they arrived, Arlington police found Cisneros lying in the roadway.
Arlington police did not release any other details.
Cisneros died at 2:13 p.m. Monday at a local hospital, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner?s website.
?He was a warm, kind man,? said his friend Lorenzo Reyes of Arlington in a telephone interview with the Fort Worth Star-Telegram on Wednesday. ?Everyone loved him.?
Reyes said Cisneros had just arrived home early Monday, but he stepped outside of his residence and walked to his car, which was parked across the street.
?He was just going to his car to get a lighter because he wanted to smoke and walk his dog,? Reyes said. ?His girlfriend stepped outside the house and the dog came running in. She didn?t see him (Cisneros) until she got on the street and he was lying there.?
?He told her he couldn?t breathe,? Reyes said.
Reyes and others have combed the neighborhood and they have discovered a home surveillance video that captured a light-colored sports utility vehicle speeding on Darlene Lane early Monday, he said.
?Whether he was drunk or not, that person needs to come forward,? Reyes said. ?That person needs to take responsibility.?
