Thats what I was thinking too. Did they ever find her body? Because it sounds like he cut her up and scattered her around.

Colorado murder suspect Barry Morphew's deleted search history has been laid bare during the second day of his preliminary hearing, revealing visits to a notorious dating website favored by unfaithful spouses and a celebrity pornography site.

Testimony from federal agents also indicated that Barry's missing wife, Suzanne Morphew, had been texting her longtime lover and sent him a bikini selfie on the afternoon of her disappearance last spring.

Barry, 53, stands accused of first-degree murder, evidence tampering and other charges in connection with the disappearance of his 49-year-old wife, who had been romantically involved with her former high school friend Jeff Libler for two years and talked about moving with him to Ecuador.

Suzanne was reported missing on Mother's Day 2020 after going out for a bike ride. Her body has never been found.

Adding to Tuesday's bombshell developments was DailyMail.com's exclusive revelation that Suzanne, Barry and Libler appeared in the local paper together in 1985.

Both men attended the same high school as Suzanne, with Barry two grades ahead of his wife and Libler at the Alexandria-Monroe High School in Alexandria, Indiana.

A newspaper report unearthed by DailyMail.com shows both men won plaudits for their sporting prowess - Morphew in baseball and Libler in golf. Both Suzanne and Libler appear in the 1987 edition of the school's yearbook, with Suzanne appearing in the school's German club, while Libler took Spanish.

During Tuesday's preliminary hearing, law enforcement officials presented to the court Suzanne's text message exchanges with her lover, in which she told him she had a fine night and was looking at houses for sale.

When her husband came home from work that day, he found Suzanne sunbathing in the yard. She was sending pictures of herself to Libler via LinkedIn, which the couple had been using to communicate behind her husband's back, reported Fox 21.

The court was then shown a photo of Suzanne that she had sent to Libler that day, which depicted her laying on her front in a bikini and smiling. Suzanne and Barry's daughters were said to have broken down in tears as the photo was shown.

Barry would later tell investigators his wife looked 'drunk' in that photo, which officials said was Suzanne's last proof of life.

The following day, Libler wished Suzanne Happy Mother's Day and said he knew it would be a hard day for her because she missed her mother. Suzanne never replied.

His last known text to Suzanne was sent on May 11, in which he offered her well wishes for her cancer treatment. That message also went unanswered.

Suzanne had survived two battles with non-Hodgkins' lymphoma decades apart.

The hearing also revealed that just days prior, Suzanne texted her husband and apparently signaled to him her intention to end their rocky marriage, which was marked by accusations of infidelity and abuse.

'I'm done,' Suzanne wrote to Barry on May 6. 'I could care less what you're up to and have been for years. We just need to figure this out civilly.'

It has been revealed that Suzanne suspected her husband of being unfaithful to her and even purchased a spy pen to snoop on him.

Barry insisted to his wife that he was not cheating on her, writing in one text: 'I promise you, you are wrong about all the crazy thoughts about me. Why would I want another, only a fool would stray from an angel like you.'

As two days of testimony have shown, both Suzanne and Barry kept secrets.

Deleted search history on Barry's phone included visits to the cheaters' dating site Ashley Maddison and Celeb Jihad, which features nude photos and videos of celebrities posted by purported Islamic extremists.

FBI Agent Kenneth Harris noted that the iCloud was shared by the Morphew family, so it's unclear whose searchers those were.

The court also heard from FBI Agent John Grusing, who detailed Barry's movements around the time of Suzanne's disappearance.

Grusing said Barry told him he was shooting chipmunks in his backyard, killing some 85 animals, on May 9. The agent also mentioned that a tranquilizer dart cap was found in Morphew's dryer.

Early the next morning, Barry headed to Broomfield, making multiple trash runs in various locations and changing shirts over the next several hours. During one of his trips to a garbage receptacle, Barry said he disposed of tranquilizer material.

As Tuesday's hearing continued into the evening, the court was also told how:

Morphew's defense said he wouldn't have had enough time to hide a body.
During his first interview with Com. Walker, Morphew claimed that on Sunday morning he set his alarm for 4:30am. He claimed he had loaded the truck the night before and left the driveway around 5am.
It reportedly takes about 32 minutes to drive to Johnson Village from his home, according to Google directions.
Based on provided cell phone data, Morphew arrived in Johnson Village at 5:37am.
'Do you think there is time to dispose of a human body in that time?' Neilsen asked. 'No there is not,' Agent Grusing replied.
At 6:56 a.m. Morphew sent two text messages to Suzanne. They read: 'You up?' and 'Happy Mother's Day, I love you.'
Those were his final texts to his wife.
Neilsen also poked holes into Grusings' evidence that claims Morphew put his cell phone on airplane mode on and off, which is mentioned in the sealed arrest affidavit.
Verizon records show Morphew's cell phone was on at 7:19am. on May 9 receiving a signal.
Neilsen asked, 'Can a phone receive a signal in airplane mode?' Grusing said, 'I don't know.'

The first half of the preliminary hearing has wrapped up.

The prosecution said they still have witnesses to call, noting that only three have been called thus far. He believes those three are the “meat and potatoes” for this hearing, but would still like to call other witnesses. However, he says the defense is taking too long and isn't sure if it’ll be done in four days.

The preliminary hearing is supposed to continue on August 23 and 24.

The first day of the preliminary hearing revealed that Morphew had researched language schools in Ecuador after her lover, a married father-of-six from Michigan who she went to school with in Indiana, suggested that the Latin American nation had cheap living costs and good healthcare.

'I'd live in a shack right now,' Suzanne texted her friend, Sheila Oliver, who she had known for 30 years.

'I'm sure he won't make it easy. He has always wanted control.' She was referring to her husband Barry, currently on trial for Suzanne's murder.

Suzanne was last seen heading out for a bike ride near their home last May. Her body has never been found.

On Monday the court heard that her marriage to Barry, 53, was full of arguments, domestic violence, distrust and religious guilt-tripping.

In June Barry Morphew was suddenly arrested for the killing. Prosecutors haven't revealed any of the evidence they used to charge him nor have they laid out a motive.

Monday's hearing was the first time any of the details that went into their case emerged. They include:

Suzanne was having an affair with Jeff Libler, a married Michigan father of six who she'd gone to high school with in Indiana
They met up seven times in several states and exchanged messages on LinkedIn to try to hide their romance from Barry, who became suspicious after reading some of their texts
In December 2019 Libler told Suzanne that Ecuador was a cheap place to live with good healthcare, and her internet records show searches for language schools in Ecuador
Suzanne had been taking antidepressants and told friends she was begging Barry for a divorce but he refused to give her one
Suzanne had a spy pen that she was going to use to snoop on Barry because she was convinced he was also having an affair
She told friends in text messages that Barry turned their daughters against her whenever they argued
The defense pointed to unidentified male DNA that was found in Suzanne's Range Rover on the steering wheel - it is not Barry's and it matches three profiles in the criminal database
Barry was awake on the morning of her disappearance and was 'disposing of evidence' between 2am and 5am

Chaffee County Sheriff's Commander Alex Walker testified that Suzanne suspected her husband of having an affair so bought a spy pen to put in his car.

Instead, it was she who was having the affair.

She and Libler - a married father of six who lives in Michigan - met up seven times in multiple states, sending each other nude photos and saying they were each other's 'soulmate'.

They communicated over LinkedIn to avoid detection and one of their last conversations involved Suzanne telling him she was in love with him.

Suzanne wanted to marry Jeff but told him she couldn't because of her religion.

Sheriffs found out about the affair when they were looking into Suzanne's disappearance in November last year, but it's unclear how.

They then went to Libler and asked him about the affair and he asked if he was a target in the investigation.

The affair began in 2018 when Suzanne, seemingly out of the blue, contacted Jeff saying: 'Howdy stranger.'

The first time they met up was in New Orleans, where investigators said they 'fooled around' but did not have sex.

The relationship turned physical in 2019. As the pair communicated more over text, Barry became suspicious so they started speaking through LinkedIn messages.

In December 2019, Libler told her that Ecuador was a cheap place to live, and had good healthcare.

Her internet search records show her looking for language schools in the Latin American country.

In recent messages, they had discussed going biking together and Suzanne told Libler she was in love with him.

She also said that she wanted to marry him but couldn't because of religious reasons.

On May 8 he texted her: 'You look good in biking gear babe. You need to be my wife.'

On the morning of May 9 she texted him: 'We need to be husband & wife.'

Later that day, he texted her that 'my gang is my home'. There were no texts after that.

Friends of the missing mother-of-two testified that she'd confided in them about how strained her marriage to Barry was.

Sheila Oliver said Suzanne wanted to leave him.

Suzanne would tell Barry that she was having a 'girls' weekend' with Oliver, but then go and meet Libler.

The court was shown text messages between Oliver and Suzanne, which included Suzanne referring to Barry as 'Jekyll and Hyde'.

'It's Jekyll and Hyde again. He and Mal were together last night. Prob switching it on when he talks with her. Ugh. I feel like I'm crazy. I just had a conversation with him. Pretty much told him I can't be healthy and stay in this,' she said.

When they argued, she complained Barry would use Biblical scriptures whenever it suited him to guilt-trip her into forgiving him.

Suzanne Morphew in a text to her friend about her marriage

Sheila also described incidents of domestic violence that included Barry smacking Suzanne into a wall and holding a gun to her head.

Another report described how he'd once held a gun to his own head in an apparent suicide threat.

One piece of evidence that was mentioned was a spy pen which had previously been vaguely referred to in documents.

The spy pen belonged to Suzanne and Walker said she had it because she suspected Barry of having an affair.

'Barry wasn't having an affair. Suzanne was having an affair for two years,' Walker told the court.

The court was shown screenshots of their text messages where Suzanne called Barry 'unstable'.

Suzanne told Sheila that Barry would turn their daughters against her, or try to, when they were arguing.

The court was also shown bodycam footage of people police spoke to in the early stages of their investigations last May, after Suzanne went missing.

A neighbor called 911 after Mallory, one of the couple's daughters, tried texting her to wish her a Happy Mothers' Day but became alarmed when the texts didn't go through.

    Barry never called 911.

Shortly afterwards she was reported missing, police interviewed the other daughter Macy's boyfriend, Miles, who told them that Barry and Suzanne had 'problems' and had discussed separating.

'They've had some problems in the past. They have talked about separating. I've known this through Macy,' he said.

In another conversation, Suzanne told Sheila how Barry would use Bible scriptures about forgiveness against her.

She also told her that she and Barry argued when she was undergoing chemotherapy treatment while battling Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

Sheila testified on Monday that Macy, the Morphews' youngest daughter, encouraged her mother to get a divorce and file a restraining order against her father.

The court also heard that Suzanne had been taking antidepressants before she vanished, and that the pair had argued about money.

She had inherited the money and the couple used it on a house, according to reporters who were in the court.

Unlike at past hearings, there were no cameras inside the court for Monday's hearing and the judge is not allowing it to be live streamed.

Fox 21 reporter Lauren Scharf tweeted on Monday that Barry's sister approached her in court and told her she was 'ruining' their lives.

The girls Macy and Mallory cried during some of the testimony.

At one point Barry turned to his daughters and mouthed: 'I miss you guys,' and then teared up.

The hearing will take several days, after which the judge is expected to rule on whether or not to set bail.

EXCLUSIVE: Suzanne Morphew's married lover went to same high school with both her AND her husband Barry - and was featured alongside the accused murderer in the local paper in 1985

The married lover of missing mom Suzanne Morphew appeared in the local paper alongside husband Barry in 1985, DailyMail.com can reveal.

Married dad Jeffrey Libler, 51, was named in court on Monday as the man Suzanne, 49, had a two-year affair with before she vanished on Mother's Day 2020.

Her husband Barry Morphew, 53, has been charged with her murder - with police investigators citing the affair and her wish to leave him as a possible motive during the preliminary hearing in Salida, Colorado.

Both men attended the same high school as Suzanne, with Morphew two grades ahead of his wife and Libler at the Alexandria-Monroe High School in Alexandria, Indiana.

Now a newspaper report unearthed by DailyMail.com shows both men won plaudits for their sporting prowess - Morphew in baseball and Libler in golf.

Both Suzanne and Libler appear in the 1987 edition of the school's yearbook, with Suzanne appearing in the school's German club, while Libler took Spanish.

Suzanne and Libler also appear just a few pages apart in the portrait photo section.

The June 12, 1985 news report lists the high school's sporting big-hitters with Morphew taking fifth place in the baseball team's list of most valuable players.

A photo that appears above the report in the Alexandria Times Tribune shows a young Morphew sporting a blond bowl cut and sitting among fellow players.

Libler appears further down the same page under the golf listing and was one of two freshmen assigned to the First Varsity A.

Complete bullshit. That would establish he had a pattern and history of domestic violence. I wonder if it was the same judge that granted a change of venue.

Yeah. I can understand that they might not allow someone to testify that "she told me" but damn it, this isn't hearsay. This is her own words. Seems like the deck is stacked in favor of the abuser. As long as they can kill their victim so she can't testify, it's all good.

Agree. Does anyone know how old the text messages are? Haven't seen that in any of the recent articles but wonder if that could play a part in the judge's decision. Maybe it's not recent enough for him to think it's relevant. Just guessing.

Barry Morphew lawyers ask judge to dismiss case, citing 'false testimony': court documents

Lawyers for murder suspect Barry Morphew are again asking a Colorado judge to drop his case, citing falsehoods from prosecutors and law enforcement, according to reports.

Morphew was arrested in May 2021 and is charged with first-degree murder, tampering with a deceased human body, and other crimes in connection to the presumed death of Suzanne Morphew, who disappeared on Mother's Day 2020. Her body has not been found, and Morphew has maintained his innocence.

His attorneys argue in a March 9 motion to dismiss, however, that "substantial evidence" shows "law enforcement testified falsely," and "the prosecutor presented this false testimony," the motion obtained by FOX 21 Colorado Springs states.

"He asks the court to dismiss this case because a fair trial cannot be held under the circumstances of these falsehoods and coverups," his lawyers wrote.

The defense team alleges that the prosecution falsified reasons for Barry Morphew's arrest, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation's support for his arrest, justification for the removal of CBI Agent Joseph Cahill, as well as court pleadings.

The motion accuses 11th Judicial District Attorney Linda Stanley of being "responsible for the presentation of false and misleading testimony," saying she personally worked to remove Cahill, the primary investigator in the defendant's case, "because he would not testify?according to her script" regarding three Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) matches linking DNA found of the glove box of Suzanne Morphew's car to individuals other than Barry Morphew.

Morphew's lawyers filed another motion to dismiss earlier this month, claiming a fourth CODIS match linked to the DNA found in Suzanne Morphew's vehicle, according to FOX 21.

The sample came through a database as a partial match for "single or multiple individuals across the country involved in sexual assault cases," defense attorneys wrote in an August letter. They said the sample belongs to a sex offender living in Arizona.

Murder charges against Barry Morphew are dismissed - FOR NOW - as cops believe they've located missing wife Suzanne's body in mountains near their Colorado home but can’t excavate in time for trial because of 'snow pack'

Barry Morphew was due to stand trial on April 28 for his wife Suzanne's murder
Prosecutors had planned to try him without ever finding Suzanne's body
But on Tuesday, DA Linda Stanley filed a motion to dismiss the case
She said police believe they have found Suzanne's body but cannot excavate it quickly enough to perform necessary tests before the start of the trial
She did not rule out charging Morphew again in the future but said the case had to be withdrawn for the time being
Morphew - who has the support of his daughters - celebrated outside court
'Barry and his daughters are relieved but they want to know where Suzanne is,' said his attorney
Suzanne vanished on Mothers Day 2020 after going out or a bike ride

The murder charges against Colorado father Barry Morphew for killing his wife Suzanne have been dropped - for the time being.

Suzanne vanished on Mother's Day 2020 after going on a bike ride. Barry was arrested but he has always denied having any role in her killing. He was due to stand trial for his wife's murder, without her body ever being found.

But on Tuesday, prosecutors announced that they believe they know where Suzanne's body is - buried beneath five feet of snow.

They cannot excavate the body quickly enough to perform the necessary tests before the April 28 trial start date, but also cannot push ahead with their prosecution since they have discovered where her body is located and the key evidence it may hold.

Because of that, they had no choice but to dismiss the case against Morphew.

Morphew - who has always denied having any role in his wife's disappearance - left court holding hands with his daughters.

Speaking afterwards, his attorney declared it a victory that came about because the prosecution knew they were going to lose the case.

Now they believe they need to find a body in order to proceed with any kind of charge. Today is the first day the prosecution has ever stated that that would be a consideration.

'Forever they have stated that they don't need a body, that a body is irrelevant. But you need to know in this case there has not been a single ounce of physical evidence connecting Mr. Morphew to this alleged crime.

'We were going to get him acquitted rightly, after a trial that we believed we were going to have. But all of a sudden now today, in the face of the fact that they have committed so much misconduct, they have decided to dismiss the case claiming that there is a body that they're close to finding up in the mountains that is snow covered, near where Mr. Morphew's house was

'Barry and his daughters are relieved but they want to know where Suzanne is.

'Barry Morphew loves Suzanne Morphew. He loves her and misses her and wants to know where she is,' attorney Iris Eytan said.

She fumed that prosecutors had committed the worst misconduct she had seen in '30 years'.

In the motion, obtained by DailyMail.com, Chaffee County DA Linda Stanley said police would not be able to exhume the body in time for April 28.

She also noted that forensic evidence discovered on Suzanne’s remains could show that her killer was someone other than Morphew – or could incriminate him further.

Stanley also said that the remains, if they are discovered in the area police have pinpointed, will require testing to ensure they are those of Suzanne and not someone else.

Despite defense objections, Judge Ramsay Lama agreed to drop the case without prejudice – meaning the charges could be refiled against Morphew at a later date.

Suzanne, a mother-of-two, was reported missing when daughters Mallory and Macy were unable to get hold of her on Mother’s Day 2020.

Although Morphew was arrested and charged with murder a year after she vanished, her body has never been found.

Police say they have now pinpointed a location in a ‘remote, mountainous area’ not far from the former Morphew home in Maysville, Colorado.

The spot could be close to the remote Garfield Mine which was mentioned in prosecution arguments during a pre-trial hearing in September 2021.

According to the prosecution, data from Morphew’s truck sho ws a 15-minute gap between the time he left home at 5am on the morning of May 10 and the vehicle’s appearance on a gas station camera in Poncha Springs at 5.14am.

The journey typically takes less than five minutes.

In a police interview, Morphew admitted that he had taken a detour close to the abandoned lead mine after allegedly seeing some elk.

But police say they believe he was doing something else at the remote site which sits among mountains 10,289ft above sea level.

Morphew is currently living in a home in the same area, renting a property just meters away from the house he shared with Suzanne.

During previous hearings, the court heard how the Morphew’s happy marriage was a sham, with Suzanne enjoying a two-year fling with married dad-of-six Jeff Libler while Barry was signed up to extramarital dating website Ashley Madison.

Suzanne’s passionate affair included overnight trips to Florida and New Orleans and she regularly sent the married dad racy photos – including her final photo which showed her posing in a bikini top the day before she was reported missing.

Prosecutors say that while Morphew was desperate to save his marriage, Suzanne was equally determined to leave – a motive, they claim, for murder.

Police said Morphew was seen with multiple cuts and scratches on his arms and hands in the days after Suzanne vanished, while an empty tranquilizer dart was found in the laundry room.

Last year, DailyMail.com revealed how Morphew had left a hotel room in Broomfield, Colorado, stinking of chlorine on the day Suzanne was reported missing.

Since being released from jail in September, Morphew has spent much of his time with new girlfriend Shoshona Darke, 51 – and was pictured exclusively by DailyMail.com with the mom-of-one in October.

According to Morphew’s arrest affidavit, cops were first tipped off about his new squeeze in December 2020 but were unable to catch them together so mounted a camera on a telegraph pole outside her home.

In early February, DailyMail.com witnessed Morphew visit the property on consecutive nights – staying until the following morning – but was unable to verify the identity of the occupant or their relationship with Morphew.

Police were later able to obtain security footage from Antler’s Hotel in Colorado Springs taken on Valentine’s Day which showed the pair checking in together.

Darke has refused to speak about her relationship with Morphew, despite being repeatedly approached by DailyMail.com, and maintained a low profile during his stay in jail.

She also denied being in a relationship with him when confronted by the cops but later admitted to meeting him in October 2020.

Murder charges against Barry Morphew are dismissed - FOR NOW - as cops believe they've located missing wife Suzanne's body in mountains near their Colorado home but can?t excavate in time for trial because of 'snow pack'
