Search for missing Fort Hood soldier continues a month later

    https://www.fox7austin.com/news/sear...-a-month-later

KILLEEN, Texas - The search for missing Fort Hood soldier Pfc. Vanessa Guillen continues more than a month after her disappearance.

On April 22, the 20-year-old soldier disappeared from Fort Hood. That morning, she texted her boyfriend that she was headed to work in the arms room on base. Around 11 a.m. her sister, Mayra Guillen, says text messages sent to her phone began bouncing back, and calls went to voicemail.

Around 8 p.m. her sister grew worried and contacted her staff sergeant, who is charged with attendance. He told her that he had not seen Vanessa Guillen since lunchtime, but was expecting to see her at 10 p.m. check in. She never showed up.

Her ID, CAC card, debit card and keys were found in the arms room.

Mayra Guillen says her sister enlisted at age 18. She was in South Carolina, then Virginia before coming to Fort Hood at the beginning of the year.

“She wasn’t as joyful as she was usually -- and I don’t know what happens in there that made like a complete change in her.” said Mayra Guillen. She says she has recently been going through old texts with her sister. One message, in particular, stands out. “She pretty much didn’t like being at Fort Hood and (said) hopefully one day she could open up to me in regards to what was bothering her.”

Today, Mayra Guillen says she wishes she had “pushed [her sister] a little bit more into telling [her] what was going on inside the base.”

According to a statement issued by Fort Hood, the U.S. Army’s Criminal Investigation Command, known as CID, is leading the investigation. The search continues both on and off Fort Hood by multiple agencies including the Texas Rangers, Bell and Coryell County Sheriff Departments, the Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Game Wardens, the FBI, Texas EquuSearch and area police departments.

Vanessa Guillen was with the 3rd Cavalry Regiment. When she first disappeared, the regiment had more than 500 soldiers a day searching on foot in training areas, barracks and across the installation. Aircraft from the 1st Cavalry Division provided more than 100 hours of flight time to the search both on and off the base. Now, targeted searches are ongoing with smaller groups of soldiers.

Still Mayra Guillen says contact with officials at Fort Hood has been very limited. She spoke with staff sergeants the first day her sister went missing. No one, aside from CID, reached out to her until April 23, more than a month after her sister's disappearance.

“Her chain of command failed on her,” said Mayra Guillen.

Vanessa Guillen is 5’3 with brown hair and eyes, and a mole on the left side of her chin. She was last seen wearing a black shirt, black Nike shoes, and light purple leggings. Her sister says she loves the outdoors and physical fitness.

“It’s always been like me and her and for this to happen, it’s just like, it’s really hard,” said Mayra Guillen. She has been staying near the base, almost every day since her sister disappeared.

Last Monday, Fort Hood soldier Pfc. Brandon Scott Rosecrans was found shot and killed near his burning Jeep. The murder has Mayra Guillen on edge. “I don’t feel safe at all. Whether it’s inside or outside the base. So, I’m always keeping an eye out.” she said.

CID is offering an up to $15,000 reward for information that leads to Vanessa Guillen’s whereabouts. Anyone with information should contact CID agents at 254-495-7767. Texas EquuSearch can also be contacted at 281-309-9500, as can the U.S. Army Military Police Desk at 254-287-4001.

So I found this article about the petition:
    https://www.kwtx.com/content/news/Fa...570721031.html

It doesn't say anything about the sexual harassment. I want to know more about this.

Sincerely confused here. What do they expect the White House to do about a missing person? The Army CID is offering a $15k reward for information, an indication that they suspect foul play and not a simple AWOL, so I can assure you the Army is actively investigating. Does the family think there is some kind of cover up going on? The alleged harasser is a sergeant, not nearly high enough in rank to merit 'top cover' or 'protection' of any kind, the Army would gladly chew him up and spit him out to serve as an example.

Military officials said in a statement that the "search continues both on and off Fort Hood by multiple military and civilian law enforcement agencies," including CID, FBI and other local authorities.

"Numerous special agents from the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command have frequently called and met with members of the Guillen family from the date she was first reported missing," including Mayra Guillen and Gloria Guillen, Vanessa's mother, according to military authorities.

At least 500 soldiers were initially deployed on a daily basis to search on foot in training areas, barracks and across the installation, the statement said, adding that more targeted searches are now ongoing with smaller groups of soldiers. Additionally, a military aircraft "provided more than 100 hours of flight time to the search both on and off the installation."

Mayra Guillen said that she hasn't "seen a flight log or anything that proves to me that they are actually searching."

Guillen's family is calling for "a bigger agency such as the FBI," which is already involved in the search, to take over the investigation.
I feel for the family, but this attitude right here rubs me the wrong way. They clearly don't understand how investigations and jurisdiction work, and I imagine they aren't making any friends among the investigators. This family needs a media relations specialist before they burn too many bridges.

Authorities: ‘Foul Play’ involved in disappearance of Pfc. Vanessa Guillen

    https://fox40.com/news/national-and-...nessa-guillen/

During a press conference in front of the Fort Hood main gate, Rep. Sylvia Garcia (D-Dist.29) said investigators say military investigators believe ‘foul play’ is involved in the disappearance of PFC. Vanessa Guillan.

Rep. Garcia said investigators would not expand on what ‘foul play’ meant.

On Monday, members of Equusearch searched along the Leon River in Bell County for Guillen.

Their search started Sunday, and they say they have a ‘good reason’ to be in the area.

The Texas Rangers, U.S. Army Criminal Investigation, and The Texas Game Wardens also took part in the search near FM 436 and North Hartrick Loop.

Guillen has been missing since April 22, 2020. Sunday, Major General Scott Effland, the Deputy Commander for 3 Corps pleaded for help on social media to find her.

Volunteers put together a drive thru barbecue to help the family of PFC Vanessa Guillen to assist with their lodging while temporarily living in Killeen as well as paying lawyers and private investigators in the search for Guillen.

Hundreds of cars drove through at the Moss Rose Community Center in Killeen. The family decided on the barbecue idea to offer something to their supporters when they donate.

Hearing her mother pled and cry the other day was so heartbreaking. I hope they get some answers.

She was sexually harassed and mentioned this to her mother. The cameras in Ft. Hood were "off" or down. The mom says she was taken by a white truck. If you know Spanish, it's a hard watch.

Items found in river could be linked to missing Fort Hood soldier, Vanessa Guillen

    https://www.wsfa.com/2020/06/27/item...nessa-guillen/

BELL COUNTY, Texas (KWTX) - Days after searching a local river, Texas EquuSearch continued their efforts Wednesday in the search for missing Fort Hood Pfc. Vanessa Guillen, 20, and they may have been productive.

“I think we found some things and they’re doing some testing on some things. If it has anything to do with it or not, I don’t know. We were all pretty optimistic on it. We won’t know for sure until results come back from the lab,” EquuSearch founder Tim Miller said.

“Yes, there is a reason we have been every place we have been,” he added.

Miller and volunteers with Texas EquuSearch spent the day Wednesday searching a neighborhood near 439 and Sparta Road in Bell County, but found “nothing new,” Miller said, adding, “Yes, there is a reason we have been every place we have been.”

They also passed out flyers to homeowners.

“We use horses, ATVs, we use drone airplanes, sonars and foot searchers. Whatever is needed,” he said.

Miller and Texas EquuSearch have been assisting local authorities in actively searching for Guillen.

She has been missing since April 22.

On Tuesday, her family, their attorney Natalie Khawam and U.S. Rep. Sylvia Garcia, D-Houston addressed the media with an update from a meeting with Fort Hood and Army officials.

Garcia confirmed that foul play is suspected in Guillen’s disappearance.

A day before, Texas EquuSearch helped scour the Leon River in Bell County for clues.

A reward of up to $50,000 is being offered for information leading to Guillen’s whereabouts.

The reward is being split at $25,000 apiece between Army CID and LULAC.

Vanessa Guillen: Unidentified remains found amid search for missing Fort Hood soldier in same area ANOTHER missing soldier’s dead body found just days ago

    https://www.crimeonline.com/2020/06/...nessa-guillen/

Witnesses reported finding unidentified remains on Saturday in Killeen, Texas, as crews continued their search for missing Fort Hood soldier, Vanessa Guillen.

ABC 13 reports that authorities were called to the 3400 block of Florence Road on Saturday afternoon after the discovery of the remains were found near an area where searchers found the remains of soldier Gregory Wedel-Morales earlier this month.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Morales disappeared from Fort Hood in August 2019. The US Army Criminal Investigation Command said that Morales’s remains were found in a field after special agents had “received information” about their location.

According to police, witnesses told officers on Saturday that they had located “some kind of unidentified remains.” Detectives with the Homicide Unit removed the remains and reportedly sent them off for testing at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

It’s not clear at this point if the remains found are human or animal, police said. No other details have been released at this time.

Meanwhile, the search continues of Guillen, who disappeared on April 22. She was last seen at around 1 p.m. at the parking lot of the Regimental Engineer Squadron Headquarters, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, in Fort Hood.
Guillen left behind her car keys, barracks room key, identification card, and wallet in the Arms room, where she works. She was also called in on her day off, but it’s unclear who called her in or why.

Guillen’s mother, Gloria Guillen, previously told CrimeOnline that a sergeant at the base had been sexually harassing her daughter. Guillen told her mother she felt unsafe at the base but planned to “take care of it.” Within a few weeks, Guillen disappeared.

President of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), Domingo Garcia, announced earlier this month that his organization would add an additional $25,000 reward, to go along with a previous $25,000 reward offered by the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command.

“This shouldn’t be happening,” family attorney Natalie Khawam told CBS News. “This is on a federal government base. A military base. There has to be more accountability. And [there are] more protections and safeguards than anywhere else.

“How can you not have these answers? The irony. You talk about all these gate checks and all these security checks… yet someone goes missing? This doesn’t happen. And the fact that, she wasn’t even supposed to be working that day. She was off that day. Why did they call her in?”

Rapper Baby Bash also offered $5,000, bringing the total amount to $55,000, according to NBC 6.

Guillen, who was born and raised in the Houston area, is described as a Hispanic female who stands 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighs 126 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. She has three tattoos: a cross with a flower and a flower, both on her left arm, and a mountain on her upper left shoulder. She also has a mole on the left side of her chin.

An eyewitness reportedly saw Vanessa near her barracks on the day she disappeared. She was wearing black Nike shoes, a black Nike shirt, and purple leggings.

Family members said that Guillen not only loved to jog but has always been avid about sports and learning. She graduated in the top 15% of her high school class, where she played soccer and remained active with other physical activities.

Guillen had always dreamed of serving and protecting her country.

Anyone with any information on the missing soldier’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Army CID Special Agents at 254-495-7767 or the Military Police Desk at 254-287-4001.

a lot of people think it's related. it's also rumored that the remains might be something from Gregory, as in a thorough job wasn't done when he was found.

    More remains found! :-(

Human remains found during search for missing Fort Hood soldier Vanessa Guillen

The Army CID issued the following statement:
Due to extensive investigative work conducted by Special Agents from the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command, agents have returned to an area of interest close to the Leon River, Bell County, Texas for more investigative work in the search for PFC Vanessa Guillen. After receiving additional information, agents have discovered what has been described as partial human remains after analysis from a forensic anthropologist. Army CID agents are currently on scene with the Texas Rangers, the FBI and Bell County Sheriff's Department. No confirmation as to the identity of the remains has been made at this point and we ask for the media and public's understanding that the identification process can take time. Due to the ongoing criminal investigation, no further information will be released at this time.

One suspect dead, two others arrested in connection to disappearance of Pfc. Vanessa Guillen

KILLEEN, TX — The family lawyer for Vanessa Guillen has named the person they believe is responsible for her disappearance.

The lawyer representing the Guillen family, Natalie Kawham, says 2 suspects are in custody and names Aaron Robinson as the suspect who died from self-inflicted gunshot wounds Wednesday morning in Killeen.

One military suspect is deceased after taking his own life yesterday in Killeen, Texas, and a civilian suspect has been arrested by the Texas Rangers in connection with the disappearance of Pfc. Vanessa Guillen.

Special Agents from the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command, along with the U.S. Marshals, Killeen Police Department, and the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force were attempting to locate the junior Soldier from Fort Hood who fled the post late Tuesday.

While law enforcement agencies, minus Army CID Special Agents, attempted to make contact with the suspect, the suspect reportedly displayed a weapon and took his own life.

The civilian suspect is the estranged wife of a former Fort Hood Soldier and is currently in custody in the Bell County Jail awaiting charges by civilian authorities.

Additionally, the Texas Rangers, with assistance from Army CID and other agencies, are still processing the scene at the Leon River in Bell County, Texas, where partial human remains were discovered Tuesday.

Coordination has been made with Armed Forces Medical Examiner Services, who will assist with dental x-rays/DNA for identification by the Southwest Institute of Forensic Science, Dallas, Texas. A positive identification of the remains is pending.

“We have made significant progress in this tragic situation and are doing everything possible to get to the truth and bring answers to the family of Pfc. Vanessa Guillen,” said Chris Grey, the spokesman for Army CID.

The 20-year-old Guillen was last seen on the morning of April 22 in the parking lot of her Regimental Engineer Squadron Headquarters, 3rd Cavalry Regiment on Fort Hood, Texas, and had not been heard from since that date.

The Army Criminal Investigation Command has been working closely with multiple law enforcement agencies throughout this investigation to include the FBI, Belton Police Department, Bell County Sheriff’s Department, the United States Marshals Service, the Texas Rangers and the Texas Department of Public Safety.

According to CID officials, this is still an open and ongoing criminal investigation.

“There is still a lot of investigative work to be done and we ask for the public and media’s patience,” Grey said. “There are obviously pieces of information and evidence that cannot be shared with the public during an active criminal investigation. Doing so can seriously jeopardize the charging and successful prosecution of individuals. When important investigative information is prematurely released, criminals can and will destroy evidence, conspire to change their stories, build false alibis, etc.”

Aaron Robinson Suicide, Source identifies Fort Hood suspect who shot himself overnight

Aaron Robinson reportedly ran off of the base on foot. Police attempted to make contact with him but he shot himself

Aaron Robinson reportedly ran off of the base on foot. Police attempted to make contact with him but he shot himself as the officers approached.

According to officials, one of the few suspects sought for a criminal investigation took her own life.

    What happened with Aaron Robinson
The incident occurred overnight on the East Rancier Boulevard in Killeen at 1:30 am. In an interview with Nancy’s Grace Stories with Nancy Grace today, Guillen’s family lawyer Natalie Kwaham said the suspect was identified as Aaron Robinson. Reportedly, he escaped from the base on foot. The police tried to contact him, but he shot himself as the officers approached.

    Vanessa Guillen and Aaron Robinson
There is currently no confirmed connection, but the incident occurred hours after the U.S. Crime Investigation Unit announced that it found human remains when searching for a 20-year-old Fort Hood soldier Vanessa Guillen.

    Investigations
As CrimeOnline previously reported, the remains were found in a shallow tomb by the River Leon. Tim Miller, a founder of Texas Equusearch, said his team found evidence from Guillen in an earlier study in the same area.

Miller said the remains were located near the place.

so apparently the killer and the girl both followed some local groups in town. Apparently Cecily had multiple accounts and was basically talking shit about vanessa and implying she was trying to ruin someone's life over a "lie" (rape or sexual assault reports) trying to get screenshots
