Leslie Driskill (34) missing from Oklahoma City, OK since 4/21/2020

Leslie Driskill has helped lots of distance runners over the years.

    Now, she needs help.

The Oklahoma City mom and runner has been missing since Tuesday. According to friends, she talked to a co-worker at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday and has not been seen or heard from since.

A missing person report has been filed with the Oklahoma City Police.

Driskill, 34, is Native American. She has dark brown hair and eyes. She is 5-foot-7 or 5-foot-8, 150 pounds, and she has a clock tattoo on the upper part of her left arm.

Driskill has run more than 30 marathons, and in 2011, she ran the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon while seven months pregnant with her daughter. Working as a research assistant in one of the labs at the OU College of Medicine, she drew on medical expertise of those around her to be safe throughout her training and race day.

People saw that spunk again from Driskill these past few years at the Memorial Marathon. Two years ago, she and running friend David Bach realized they hadn't trained enough for the race, so they decided to have some fun. They dressed up in unicorn costumes.

A little over half way into the race, they realized they were bringing up the rear.

The Last Place Unicorns were born.

They were solidified when they encountered a woman who had signed up for the half marathon to kickstart a weight-loss journey. She was struggling, and they stayed with her to the finish line.

Last year, Driskill and Bach decided to wear the costumes again and purposely run at the back. They wanted to encourage slower runners; they had needed encouragement before and decided they wanted to pay back that kindness.

"Please be warned," the Last Place Unicorns wrote on their Facebook page, "we will obnoxiously cheer for you, tell everyone how awesome you are and leave a glittery residue behind."

Had it not been for the coronavirus pandemic, Sunday would have been the 20th running of the Memorial Marathon.

Driskill was known to run all around the Oklahoma City metro, mostly on city streets. The trails running to the Oklahoma City River as well as Will Rogers Park are not far from her neighborhood.

If you have any information about Driskill's whereabouts, contact the Oklahoma City Police (Case No. 20-30337) at (800) 222-8477 or missingpersons@okc.gov.
