A Delta Airlines worker died after being found shot in an Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport employee parking lot Sunday night, the company said in a statement.

The College Park Police Department said it found Alexis Reed, 30, unresponsive in the Delta Employee Parking lot around 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

In a statement to CNN, police said she had been shot several times. Reed was taken to a hospital and died, police said.

"This incident is being investigated as a homicide. There are no suspects in custody at this time," the police statement says.

"The Delta family is grieving the loss of one of our own this morning," Delta said. "We share our deepest condolences with both family and friends. Delta is currently conducting an investigation, in partnership with law enforcement."

Investigators aren’t sure if Alexis Nicole Lee Reed and Tyneshia Denise Shelby knew each other. But the two women both knew the man accused of killing them: Raeshaun Antonie Jones.

When local and federal investigators located the Delta Air Lines employee, he shot and killed himself, College Park police said Wednesday. Investigators don’t have a motive in the case and declined to say whether Jones was romantically involved with either of the women.

The killings were not random, Maj. Nathan Ward with College Park police said.

Investigators believe Jones was waiting on Reed, a Delta coworker, after she finished her shift Sunday night and shot her multiple times in the employee parking lot.

Surveillance cameras didn’t capture the shooting but did get the suspected getaway car, Ward said. Reed, 30, later died from her injuries.

While College Park police investigated the incident, Clayton County police were investigating a separate homicide.

Around 10:30 a.m. Monday, Clayton investigators were called to a Stockbridge hotel on Davidson Parkway, where they found the body of Shelby, Capt. David Ricks said. It was not known Wednesday where Shelby, 33, lived, Ricks said. She died from a single gunshot, police said late Wednesday.

Police department leaders declined to release details about how Jones was linked to both homicides.
On Tuesday, investigators attempted a traffic stop after locating Jones in a vehicle in Lovejoy, Ricks said. Jones, a passenger in the car, shot and killed himself when confronted by police, Ricks said. The woman driving the car, who is not considered a suspect, was not identified.
