Has anyone else ever had problems with dating Zoloft or an IUD (besides Kristinella with the IUD) and gaining weight?

I have heard that certain anti-depressants can cause a change with your weight.

    (BTW: Don't date Zoloft  )

So I started yesterday, walked around the neighborhood.  Today went on the treadmill 30 minutes, then switched to the bike for another 30.

I'm sore as hell.  Good kind of sore, right?

Plus we have been eating A LOT healthier.  Also, I'm desperately trying to stay away from the Coke (pop, not the fun stuff..if I used the latter I wouldn't need to diet/exercise ).

Trying to get the bf to start an Excel Sheet of our weight loss/progression.

My goal is to get pre-baby weight and not to be a complete liar on my drivers license.  I've got about 20lbs to go.

I had the Mirena and gained weight like CRAZY.  I have never had an issue with gaining like that, and have always been tiny.  It was so weird - the weight was all around my belly and 'love-handles' and my face rounded up some.  I literally looked pregnant.  I basically starved myself and worked out to try to get it off with ZERO results.  I got the damn thing out and the weight fell off.

The doctors are full of shit when they say that it doesn't make people gain weight.  :x

Oh it totally freaked me out!  At first it was ok, but then I suddenly gained 20 lbs (in about 2 months) without changing eating habits or anything.  I was like wtf.  I used to be a gymnast and have always been small, so this completely made me feel horrible.  I've had it out for about a month and a half now.  I was down 15 lbs about 3 weeks after removal without even trying hard, and have maintained that.  I'm comfortable with where I am now.

(Not to mention the depression, mood swings, and acne that came with it.)

If you're having any issues, I highly suggest getting it taken out.  Granted, I don't know of your insurance/financial status, but I know I feel 100% better back on the good ol' pill.

I started Slimming World a week ago and went to the meeting tonight for weigh in.  :2smiley:
Slimming World is like a weight watchers rival, so to speak, I don't think they do it in the US though.
I've eaten loads and never felt hungry, plus I had a few drinks at the weekend too. I knew I'd lost, but not that much!

Any of you have any experience with the Master Cleanse diet? I think it was Olivia that mentioned it here before...

I'm on my third day now of no food, thought it was going really well because I haven't been hungry at all. The lemon/cayenne pepper mixture, I'm supposed to drink 10 cups of this thing a day but I've not been able to drink more than 3-4 cups of it. When I woke up today and took the dog out I was starting to sweat really bad, felt dizzy and got all shaky. I was thinking maybe I was a little dehydrated because I haven't been drinking any water beside the mixture. Been sitting down for a little bit now but I still feel like I'm about to pass out. Is this normal? I really want to go to the store and buy some fruit to eat while I'm on it, or will that mess everything up? I'm really craving plums!

The Master Cleanse is terrible for you!  Eat something small and healthy and work your way back up to normal.  You're dizzy because you're starving your body.

Yeah, thanks for the replies. I ended up going to the grocery store and bought a lot of fruit and bread. Had bread with banana slices on, never tasted better. I would think eating healthy, all grains and fruit, would be much better than starving yourself. You'll have the energy to actually go to the gym instead of laying in bed feeling like shit. Hopefully I'll lose just as fast that way.

No, the weight I'm aiming for and was this time last year is 119, I'm up to 135 now. I know it's not that big of a deal but all the weight I gain goes to my face and I don't want a fat face! If it could just spread out a little I wouldn't mind as much...

The Master Cleanse is a detox.

    Not a diet!!!!!!!!!!!

When done right it is benficial and actually healthy, but should not be used to lose weight.

    bump!

i got on the scale last weekend for the first time since my surgery in october.  i'd started drinking soda again and eating entirely too much dairy.  and fried chicken from time to time.  :|

i had gained 15 lbs.  i'm not one to pay attention to my weight that closely, but that was redic.  but i'm down three already and i think my new shift at work will be helpful since i have no choice but to plan ahead now.  the last two weeks i've hardly had any dairy at all.

next friday i'm back to my acupuncturist on the reg.  i'm totally stoked, because he inspires me to eat well.  i'm also back in yoga three+ times a week.  my favorite instructor is now doing classes in my office (yay!) and the classes are only $2 so i can afford them again.  home practice is nice, but it's awesome to have someone around to tell me when i'm hyper extending.  always helps to have a spotter.

    off to do some inversions.

I've discovered the secret to sticking with the gym... for me... is to go right after work. I don't give myself time to convince myself I'm too tired.
I'm going into my fifth week of regular gym routines. I'm down 6 pounds, and fit into some jeans I haven't worn in a while.
Seeing results is such a wonderful motivation.  :-D

So I did the whole Atkins thing for a bit and it worked remarkably well.  But I felt like I was starving all the time.  Someone tell me the difference between good carbs and bad carbs.  I must has them.  I iz hungry without mah carbs.
