An Alabama woman who sent a text Friday saying she didn't know where she was and might be in trouble has not been seen since.

Paighton Houston, 29, was last seen leaving the Birmingham location of the Tin Roof, a live-music bar chain, according to Birmingham police. Officials said she appeared to have left the bar willingly with two men, NBC affiliate WVTM in Birmingham reported.

She later sent a text message to someone she knew saying she might be in danger. Her family said calls to her number are going straight to voicemail, and that her debit card had not been used since she went missing.

A post on the Birmingham Tin Roof's Instagram said staff members who worked that evening have been assisting police with the investigation. The statement said off-duty police officers were at the bar Friday, which is common practice during busy hours.

"We hope and pray for Paighton's safe return and encourage anyone to reach out with any information," the statement said. Tin Roof has nearly 20 locations in major cities across the United States.

Houston was wearing ripped jeans, a coral T-shirt and Converse shoes. She is 5 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds.

Alabama's governor is offering a reward for information as police search for a 29-year-old woman who disappeared after leaving a Birmingham bar.

Paighton Laine Houston has been missing since last Saturday, the Birmingham Police Department said.

"Unfortunately, another female is missing in the state of Alabama," Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey said in a statement on Friday. "In the midst of the busy holiday season, it is critical that we support Paighton, her family and law enforcement to ensure we do everything possible to bring her home."

Houston vanished after she was seen leaving the Tin Roof bar about 10:45 p.m. Saturday, police said. She was spotted with two men and it appeared she left with them willingly, police said.

Houston had gone to the bar that night with a few friends. Shortly after midnight, she texted one of those friends saying "she didn't know who she was with and that she felt like she was in trouble," according to her brother, Evan Houston.

"It was like Paighton to check in... but it wasn't like Paighton to send a text.
Police are "not quite sure" if foul play is involved, Birmingham police Sgt. Johnny Williams told AL.com.

"This is kind of a strange case," Williams said. "We’re not sure where she may be or the last person she actually spoke to at this point.”

Williams did not immediately respond to ABC News' request for comment on Saturday.

The governor said she's offering a $5,000 reward "to help encourage anyone with credible information to contact the appropriate authorities."

Investigators searching for a missing Alabama woman who texted she could be in trouble after leaving a bar with two strange men last month said Friday that they had unearthed a female body in a shallow grave, according to a report.

The grave was discovered in the backyard of an apparently vacant home in Hueytown by investigators looking for 29-year-old Paighton Houston, who was last seen in Birmingham on Dec. 20.

Officials said the intact body was wrapped in some sort of fabric, the Birmingham News reported, adding that investigators first descended on the home Thursday.
All leads exhausted in search for missing Alabama woman, police sayVideo

Jefferson County sheriff’s Chief Deputy David Agee told the paper the body's discovery was being handled as a death investigation.

"Right now we have a lot more questions than answers but we hope to have those answers real soon," Agee said. "We’re going to work hard and we’re going to find out what happened.”

On Thursday Houston's mother, Charlaine, linked to a story about the Hueytown search on her Facebook page.

"Bring Paighton home," she wrote on Friday before the discovery of the body was reported.

A woman’s body was found in a shallow grave in the backyard of a home where investigators from multiple law enforcement agencies worked overnight and today on Chapel Drive in Hueytown.

Trussville police late Friday afternoon said the remains have positively been identified as Paighton Houston. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the cause and manner of death.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the Houston family as they begin the grieving process,'' said Trussville Det. Ben Short, who has been assisting in the investigation.

Houston’s body was wrapped in some sort of fabric but her body was intact, said Jefferson County Bessemer Cutoff District Attorney Lynneice Washington.
The remains were recovered in the “muddy, nasty” back yard of the home, which is not currently occupied. Investigators arrived at the house at 9 a.m. and the transport van left the scene with the remains shortly before 1 p.m.

"It just takes time,'' said Washington. “We have to preserve the integrity of the crime scene and the integrity of the body.”

The focus of the probe is a house and surrounding property on Chapel Drive at Love Street. Authorities on the scene included Birmingham police homicide officials, Trussville and Hueytown police, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies and K9, the Jefferson County’s Metro Area Crime Center. Hueytown’s Crime Scene Van arrived on the scene shortly after 9:30 a.m.

Neighbors say an elderly man once lived at the home, but family members took him out of the house a while back to care for him.

The death of an Alabama woman whose body was found in a shallow grave about two weeks after she disappeared has been ruled an accidental overdose.

Paighton Houston, 29, died of morphine and methamphetamine toxicity, Jefferson County Coroner Bill Yates told news outlets Thursday morning. It has been classified as a drug-opioid death, Yates said.

Wednesday night, U.S. marshals in Cleveland, Ohio, arrested Fredrick Hampton, 50, in connection to Houston's death, news outlets reported.

Hampton, a convicted sex offender, has not been accused of killing Houston. He was charged with abuse of a corpse after Houston's body was found, according to Lynneice Washington, district attorney for the Bessemer Cutoff District of Jefferson County.
