A man died Tuesday after a fall at the Liberty Memorial in Kansas City, Missouri.

Kansas City Police Department spokesman Capt. Tim Hernandez said the man fell around 4 p.m. and was pronounced dead on the concourse near the base of the 217-foot tower.

Hernandez said the man "had fallen or jumped off the tower."

"We are saddened and heartbroken by this tragedy," Matthew Naylor, president and CEO of the National WWI Museum and Memorial, said in a statement. "Our thoughts are with the family of the individual involved who lost their life. We look to the Kansas City Police Department to conduct an investigation and share their findings."

Police were interviewing witnesses and reviewing video to determine what occurred.

To Eric Brehe?s family and friends,
It saddens me to have to tell you guys. Eric passed away yesterday. He had been fighting demons for a while now. He is now resting. Eric wishes were to be cremated. His family is suffering a Financial hardship at this time. If you are able please donate. Thank you
His FB is filled with comments of love and pain after his death. It's obvious he was well loved. I wish he could have found the help he needed.

I've met the black dog who took your life. Next time I see it I'll give it an extra solid kicking on your behalf.
I didn?t know wtf he was talking about but found this:
A black dog is a motif of a spectral or demonic entity found primarily in the folklore of the British Isles. The black dog is essentially a nocturnal apparition, in some cases a shapeshifter, and is often said to be associated with the Devil or described as a ghost or hellhound. Its appearance was regarded as a portent of death.
