A Florida woman is accused of drug possession and child neglect after a 1-year-old girl in her care overdosed on fentanyl, deputies said.

Heather Aliesha Revell, 35, of Holiday, was charged with possession of heroin, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and child neglect, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said Revell and the child were at her home Saturday night when she injected herself with heroin that was laced with fentanyl, a synthetic opioid, the Tampa Bay Times reported. Revell allegedly told deputies she had cleaned up the drugs and paraphernalia Saturday night but believed the girl ingested the leftover drugs, the newspaper reported.

When the girl was unresponsive at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Revell said she called 911. Paramedics used Narcan to counter the overdose, WFLA reported. The child was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive, according to WTVT.

In addition to the heroin, deputies said they found used syringes and crushed Xanax in Revell's home and fentanyl in her purse, the Sheriff's Office said.

Revell was arrested Sunday and booked into the Pasco County Jail, where she remains in lieu of a $12,150 bond.
