The body of a missing 87-year-old woman was found Friday in Calaveras County, the sheriff?s office said.

Helen Coultrup was last seen Aug. 3 in San Andreas, the Calaveras County Sheriff?s Office said. According to her family, she was last seen in a grocery store parking lot that afternoon.

The sheriff?s office said Coultrup was driving a silver/light blue, four-door 2010 Toyota hatchback, which officials said was located Thursday morning in a wooded area at least a half hour north of her home.

A man driving an ATV found Coultrup?s car on an unpaved road off Blue Mountain Road near Wilseyville, the sheriff?s office said. The car doors were locked, the windows were rolled up and one of the tires was flat. A sheriff spokesman said there was no indication of foul play. Officials also said they were unable to locate her using cell phone data because she does not own a cell phone.

On Friday, the sheriff?s office said search crews found human remains believed to be Coltrup. Her ID, clothing and other identifying items were found near her body.

The cause and manner of her death are not known.
