James (48) & Michelle Butler (46) were found murdered and buried in the sand on a beach near where they were camping

A Rumney woman fears two bodies found in shallow grave on a Texas beach are her brother and sister-in-law, whom the family last heard from on Oct. 14.

?It is pretty devastating because it?s right where their camper was parked,? said Deborah Van Loon. ?Their camper was literally parked right there.?

It's believed James and Michelle Butler of Rumney were last seen in Corpus Christi, Texas, on Oct. 16, according to Kleberg County Sheriff?s Office.

On Sunday, a deputy searching a beach on a missing persons report discovered the body believed to be a woman behind a sand dune that appeared to be dug up by wildlife, according to a news release.

A male body was discovered on Monday. Investigators are still working on positive identification.

?Investigators are now in the process of investigating the manner and cause of death of these individuals to determine who may be responsible for their death,? Kleberg County Sheriff?s Office said in a statement.

Multiple agencies, including Texas Rangers, Texas DPS Crime Lab, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Coast Guard and Texas Parks and Wildlife, are investigating.

Authorities are trying to determine the whereabouts of the couple?s 2018 Silver Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck with New Hampshire license plate number 3738968 pulling a white Cedar Creek RV trailer, according to Kleberg County Sheriff?s Office.

Van Loon said family in New Hampshire have received no official word.

James Butler, 48, served in the Navy for 21 years and loved to travel.

?He said, ?You know what, I?ve never seen my United States,? Van Loon said. ?So they bought a secondhand older camper and they hit the road. They started in June of 2018. They have loved every minute of it.?

Butler, and his wife, Michelle, 46, worked odd jobs during their travels, including most recently on oil rigs.

The couple was in New Hampshire last month for the wedding of Michelle?s son.

Most recently, they were vacationing in Padre Bali Park in Corpus Christi where they were able to park their RV for free. It was a stop along their way to Florida.

?They decided to head toward Florida so they could sell Christmas trees in November in Fort Lauderdale,? Van Loon said. They were scheduled to arrive on Nov. 20.

Van Loon said waiting to hear from Texas officials has been tough on the family.

The remains of a man and woman found this week on a beach in Texas have been identified as a couple from New Hampshire who had been camping there, according to a Kleberg County Sheriff's Office release obtained Friday by CNN affiliate KZTV.

James Lawrence Butler III and Michell Elaine Butler were reported missing on October 23 after family and friends lost contact with them.

Their remains were found Sunday on Padre Island Beach in Corpus Christi by a Kleburg County Deputy. Chief Deputy Jaime Garza told CNN they were buried in the sand.

Their deaths were ruled homicides by the Nueces County medical examiner's office. It didn't release information about the cause of death.

"Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of the Butlers on the tragic loss of their loved ones," the sheriff's office said in a news release.

The couple's truck and camping trailer is missing, the sheriff's office said. The couple on October 15 set up their trailer near the spot on the beach were they were found. Someone communicated with them the next day, the release said.

The sheriff's office has not identified any suspects but said it will release more information about the case Monday at a news conference.

James Butler's sister Deborah van Loon told KZTV this week that she spoke to her brother on the 16th and he asked her to show his house to prospective buyers. The couple had been traveling around the country since June 2018 taking part time jobs, she said.

Two persons of interest have been identified in the killings of James and Michelle Butler, a New Hampshire couple whose bodies were found buried on a Texas beach.

Kleberg County Sheriff's Office officials said at a Monday news conference that they continue to investigate the homicides and are still reviewing evidence.

The Butlers' silver 2018 Chevrolet 2500 four-door pickup with New Hampshire license plates was last seen crossing the border into Mexico, Lt. David Mendoza said.

A photo released by authorities show a man in the driver's seat with gauged ears and tattoos and a woman in the passenger seat, who appears to have a tattoo on her left arm.

It is unknown if more people were in the back of the vehicle.
Texas Department of Public Safety , U.S. Border Patrol and park rangers are among the agencies aiding in the investigation, Kleberg County District Attorney John Hubert said.

"At this point we just don't have enough evidence to show that they are even our suspects in the murder," Hubert said. "At this point they're just people we want to identify and talk to."

It is unknown how the persons of interest came into contact with the couple, but Hubert believes they may be from the area.

A motive for the killings is also unknown.

They haven't specifically said so, that I have seen anyway, but that's what I am thinking.

Members of the family of James and Michelle Butler have confirmed the arrest of Adam Curtis Williams in Jalisco.

He's the man accused of stealing a truck and trailer belonging to the New Hampshire couple who were found buried in a shallow grave last week on Padre Island.

Earlier, reports came from Piedras Negras television station Super Channel 12 about the arrest.

The Kleberg County Sheriff's Department issued an arrest warrant for Williams yesterday.

He is wanted for felony theft.

Williams is believed to have fled to Mexico along with Amanda Noverr.

It's not clear if Noverr was also detained.

She has not been charged in this case but is considered a person of interest.
