A Portland man found dead in a construction site at the Oregon Zoo had attended a concert at the park two nights before workers discovered his body, police told The Oregonian/OregonLive on Tuesday.
Carl Stanley Ross Sr., 62, went to see a show at the zoo Saturday night, said Officer Carlos Ibarra, a Portland Police Bureau spokesman. The headlining performer for the evening was George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic.
Ross? family reported the man missing after he didn?t return from the show, Ibarra said.
A construction worker found his body about 10 a.m. Monday in the site of the zoo?s new rhino habitat, which has yet to open, police said.
The construction area is near the park?s concert lawn.
Ibarra said police have yet to determine how Ross wound up in the rhino habitat or how he died, but investigators do not believe his death to be suspicious at this time.
The man?s family could not be reached Tuesday. An Oregon Zoo spokesman referred questions to the Portland police.
