UPPER MORELAND, PA ? The three victims of the fatal plane crash in Montgomery County Thursday morning have been identified, authorities confirmed.

Jasbir Khurana, 60, his wife, Divya Khurana, 54, and their daughter Kiran Khurana, 19, were killed when their single-engine propeller plane crash landed in backyards in residential Upper Moreland.

The plane took off from Northeast Philadelphia Airport at 6:12 a.m. and was bound for Columbus, Ohio, according to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety.

Shortly after takeoff, at around 6:20 a.m., the plane came down in Upper Moreland, on Minnie Lane near Morris Road, about 10 miles away. The aircraft was found surrounded by a large debris field.

The families of the victims have been notified, officials said late Thursday afternoon.

It's remains unclear exactly what happened in the minutes between the airport and the crash on Minnie Lane. No distress call was placed by the pilot over aviation radio, officials said.

The plane was a six-seater Beechcraft Bonanza model. According to Federal Aviation Administration records connected to the tail number of the plane, the craft that crashed was made in 1975. Its most recent certificate was issued in 2016, and was not due to expire until Jan. 2022.

Despite the fact that the plane came down in a relatively dense residential area, no one else was injured, police said. No occupied structures were harmed by the plane, though one smaller shed just off Minnie Lane did suffer damage.

The FAA completed their preliminary walkthrough of the debris field, alongside local police, Thursday morning. The National Transportation Safety Board arrived on the scene Thursday afternoon. Crews are expected to remain on the scene for the next several days.
