A video recorded just hours before Monrovia kidnapping suspect Robert Camou was taken into custody appears to show him at a downtown Los Angeles bar rapping about killing and burying his girlfriend.

Robert Camou, left, and Amanda Custer are seen in undated photos released July 29, 2019, by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Authorities named the 27-year-old Camou a suspect in Amanda Custer?s disappearance on Monday and asked the public for help searching for them. On Wednesday, they asked members of the Mount Baldy community to "remain vigilant" in the continued search for Custer.

A video obtained exclusively by KTLA and recorded just hours before Camou?s car was located in downtown Los Angeles appears to show the suspect rapping at a local bar.

?I killed my b---- and buried that b---- in the f------ dirt,? the man in the video raps.

He then mutters a few words about the police looking for him and walks out of the camera's view.

Authorities are reviewing the video and trying to secure an original file to make sure it has not been edited, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Deputy Trina Schrader told the Los Angeles Times.

In addition, officials are asking anyone who was at the bar when the video was recorded, or saw Camou, to call the homicide bureau.

Authorities arrested Camou Tuesday morning near the intersection of South Hill and Third streets following a five-hour standoff in which he remained in the back seat of his Toyota Prius.

Camou finally exited the vehicle after a small amount of tear gas was shot into the car, Los Angeles Police Department Lt. Chris Ramirez said.

Investigators believe Custer was abducted Monday from a home on the 600 block of Vaquero Road in Monrovia.

A witness reported seeing Camou placing her limp body into the cargo hatch of his Prius.

Investigators also said they found blood at the scene.

Camou had been scheduled to appear in court the day Custer went missing but never showed up.

He had previously been charged with four felony counts, including burglary and assault and battery, according to court documents filed May 29.

During a bench warrant hearing Wednesday, Camou said he waned to represent himself during court proceedings. The judge then scheduled another hearing on the matter for Aug. 1.

The documents detail a case involving a victim identified as "Amanda C," which occurred on April 22.

Custer was described in a Sheriff's Department news release as a 31-year-old white female who stands 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds. She has brown hair and green eyes.

A candlelight vigil for Custer is planned for 8 p.m. Wednesday at Monrovia Library Park.

Anyone with further information about the case was asked to call the Sheriff?s Department at 323-890-5500. Those who prefer to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.

Amanda Custer vanished after a witness reported allegedly seeing her boyfriend, Robert Camou, place her limp body in the back of a Prius

A California man now under arrest in connection with a woman?s disappearance allegedly appears on video from a bar?s karaoke night to be rapping about killing and burying someone on the very day she vanished.

?At first I was like, did he say that?,? says Michael Moore, who filmed the video Monday night, reports KTLA. ?And he said it with such force.?

On Tuesday Moore says he saw the same man, 27-year-old Robert Camou, on television being hauled off in handcuffs after a standoff with police in downtown Los Angeles.

?Same guy ? no doubt in my mind,? Moore told CBS Los Angeles.

The karaoke rap at The King Eddy Saloon happened as police searched for Camou, who they?d named earlier Monday as a suspect in the disappearance of his girlfriend, 31-year-old Amanda Custer.

According to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff?s Department, police summoned by a report of alleged domestic violence at Camou?s home at 8:15 a.m. Monday did not locate either of the two but found signs of an assault.

The evidence at the scene included blood, sheriff?s homicide Lt. Scott Hoglund told the media, reports the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

A volatile relationship between the pair, who had dated for about two years, had led to ?numerous domestic violence incidents,? Hoglund alleged.

Camou was due in court Monday on a bail violation tied to prior criminal charges that included assault and domestic violence on Custer, according to court records cited by CBS Los Angeles.

Yes I had a thread on this but this was being discussed as a death investigation given how Camou said it.

The father of a woman who was believed to have been kidnapped by her boyfriend a week ago in Monrovia penned a letter asking for the public’s help in finding her, and authorities shared it with the public Monday.

“Be aware of your surroundings and keep your eyes open at this time,” Rick Custer wrote to those who live in the Mount Baldy or Lytle Creek area, where authorities are focusing their search for 31-year-old Amanda Custer.

In the letter, dated Aug. 4, Rick Custer said he and his family are continuing to search for his daughter, who disappeared July 29. He arrived in Los Angeles from out of state, officials said.

A witness reported seeing Amanda Custer’s boyfriend, Robert Camou, placing her limp body into the back of his Prius outside a home on the 600 block of Vaquero Road in Monrovia.

Camou, 27, was arrested the next morning in downtown Los Angeles after a five-hour standoff with authorities.

Before his arrest, a video recorded at a downtown bar appears to show Camou rapping about killing and burying his girlfriend.

Since then, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials have been searching the two areas in the San Gabriel Mountains for signs of the missing woman.

“If you were there on Monday and saw a grey Prius acting suspicious, please report it,” Rick Custer wrote in the letter. “We are pleading with anybody who might have a tip that might help to report it, as we are very distraught and need to bring our Amanda home.”

The Sheriff’s Department released a photo of the letter on Monday.

Anyone with further information about the case was asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at 323-890-5500. Those who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors are offering a $10,000 reward in the case of a missing Monrovia woman.

Amanda Kathleen Custer, 31, has been missing for more than two weeks, last seen in the 600 block of Vaquero Road in Monrovia. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department say witnesses saw her lifeless body being placed into the back of a gray Toyota Prius on July 29 by her estranged boyfriend, Robert Anthony Camou.

Kidnapping suspect Robert Camou, 27, was already under a restraining order filed by Custer in February, which included details of his alleged obsessive behavior.

Authorities last week outlined a timeline for Camou's activity around the time of Custer's disappearance

A California man who officials say was on video rapping about burying his girlfriend has been charged in the death of his girlfriend.

Prosecutors in Los Angeles County charged Robert Anthony Camou with killing his girlfriend, who disappeared in July and whose body has not been found, the district attorney's office said Wednesday.

Camou, 27, of Monrovia, faces one count of murder with a special circumstance allegation of killing a witness in the death of a woman identified by the district attorney's office as Amanda C., 31.

Prosecutors believe that Camou killed the woman on or about July 29 while out on bail on an April charge of battering his girlfriend.
