reading stuff like this reminds me of how nice it is to be a non-believer, nothing to worry about, nothing to be afraid of...please don't throw rocks at me.

No that's cool, but what if you are wrong...then "nothing to worry about, nothing to be afraid of" will not be true
well, if i'm wrong then i guess i'm screwed and will burn in hell for eternity?Â* i just can't buy into organized religion, it seems to be so guilt driven.Â* screw that, we're just human!Â* i like to think i have another chance after this life, but who knows...

I agree I'm not one for organized religion, but I do believe in god

And what if you're wrong, and the real true god is one of some random african tribal religion.Â* He's might be pissed that you fucked him over for a bunch of jesus nonsense.

Religion is a more outdated concept than laserdisc.Â* I can't believe that we live in a world with space shuttles and miracle vaccines, and yet people still are willing to revolve their lives around a blind stab in the dark.Â* I don't know what's worse: the people that truly believe every literal word of their religious mumbo jumbo, or the people that casually conform to a religion just for "cover your ass" life after death purposes....

Religion is nothing but a scare tactic to make people conform to certain standard of conduct.Â* Just my .02.

Can I co-sign on this?

This was beautiful Brasco. Can we get an AMEN!?

You know, I got dressed as Jimi for Halloween one year. People kept guessing I was Prince.

*proud* Judaism is excepted. We believe that the "righteous from all nations" (ie, anyone who's good) will enter Heaven.

Nothing wrong with Prince. I love the guy, quirks and all....even when people thought I was him, it wasn't that bad.
The reason for the was because when I said I was Hendrix, they didn't even know.
I guess I was in the WRONG part of town.....

i have to post a thought on suicide my grandfather commited suicide when i was 4 ..it saddens me now 22 ys. later because i wish i could have known the great man he was ..my father said they tried taking him to to the V.A. but there really wasn't much more they could do to be helped i also have depresion no doubt as told told to me by all my docs genetically i hate when catholics (iam but don't practice) and i don't want to believe he is in hell; he just could not take the pain of living here on earth anymore. and i hate all the close-minded twats that say well i get depressed too but i busy myself, pray, etc. etc because unless you've been there so take that banggun

Yea, he's been campaining to play Hendrix for a while now.
Jimi was a unique looking Black dude. Not a lot really look like him.
Then if you find someone with the resemblence, they may not have the acting ability.

Wood Harris played him in a cable movie......kinda close.

I've always been on the side of the fence that NO ONE can ever really capture the actual appearance of the person. Therefore, it's more important to get someone to ACT the part than it is to get someone who LOOKS the part.

There are the occiasional examples where you have both- like Val Kilmer as Jim Morrison.

haha, God cancels their forgiveness and calls them a tool for trying to slip by with that copout.

I'm too lazy to look anywhere else, but does all these suicides bother any of you guys too?

Makes my stomach turn.
Yes they always bother me. I stat asking myself questions, wondering, .....andof course there are never any answers. My best friend killed himself in '90 when we were both 18 and the pain of a suicide loss is so much different and full of anger, mystery and no closure....so I also think of the people who loved them that are left behind....the nightmare they are in....
