    https://abc7.com/mother-and-daughter...tives/5157788/

Now these two are detained on Murder Allegation for the deaths of 5 people.

MORRISVILLE, Pa. -- Authorities say a mother and daughter have confessed to their involvement in the murders of five family members, including three children, inside their Pennsylvania home after they alleged everyone involved had been talking about suicide.

Shana Decree, 45, was arraigned on five counts of murder and conspiracy charges around 4 a.m. Tuesday and is being held without bail. Her 19-year-old daughter Dominique is expected to be arraigned on the same charges later in the day.

The five family members killed have been identified as: Shana Decree's children, Naa'Irah Smith, 25, and Damon Decree Jr., 13, both of Morrisville, Shana's sister, Jamilla Campbell, 42, of Trenton, New Jersey, and Campbell's 9-year-old twin daughters, Imani and Erika Allen.

Action News is told Bucks County Children and Youth Social Services Agency performed a welfare check at the Robert Morris Apartments on the 200 block of West Bridge Street in Morrisville on Saturday, but when no one answered, a worker left a card.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, representatives returned to the apartment for an unannounced visit around 4 p.m. Monday. After there was no answer, the representative contacted a maintenance worker at the complex.

When the maintenance worker gained access to the apartment, he found two women, identified as Shana and Dominique Decree, in bed. The worker reported that the two seemed disoriented and the apartment was in disarray. Morrisville police were called to the scene and both were taken to the hospital.

Arriving officers saw furniture upended in the apartment, along with broken glass and clutter. The Children and Youth representative told police the apartment was not in disarray during their last visit in early February.

Police initially saw four bodies in a small bedroom. The fifth was later discovered underneath another body.

"This is a terrible tragedy. I just spoke with the family of the five of the deceased and we're all heartbroken," Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintraub said during a Monday night press conference.

The affidavit says Shana and Dominique Decree were read their Miranda rights in the emergency room of the hospital and both spoke to police without an attorney present. Both were in separate exam rooms when they were being questioned.

Dominique told police she lived in the home with her mother Shana, her sister Naa'Irah, her 13-year-old brother Damon, her aunt Jamilla Campbell, and Campbell's twin daughters.

Authorities say Dominique had visible injuries to her neck and, at first, denied knowing what happened. She claimed that an unknown male hurt her and she kept repeating she wanted to die.

Shana also first denied knowing what happened, according to police, claiming her sister's boyfriend and two unknown males came into the apartment and killed everyone except her and her daughter.

Dominique separately then echoed claims about her aunt's boyfriend and two unknown males.

The affidavit indicates that later, Shana told police everyone in the apartment, including the 9-year-old twins and 13-year-old, wanted to die and was talking about suicide.

According to the affidavit, Dominique then told police how each person was killed. Dominique said Shana killed one twin, the 13-year-old, and Smith; that Campbell killed the other twin; and she then strangled Campbell.

Police say Shana also gave them an account of who did the killings. Her account varied slightly from her daughter's, saying Dominique helped her with one of the killings and that Campbell killed Smith.

Authorities had been searching for Jamilla Campbell's 17-year-old son, Joshua Campbell, to ensure his safety. They located him Tuesday morning in Willingboro. He is not considered a suspect.

A mother accused along with her teen daughter of killing five family members in a Pennsylvania home Monday told authorities everyone in the home wanted to die, according to a probable cause affidavit. Shana Decree, 45, and 19-year-old Dominique Decree are charged with five counts of criminal homicide and a conspiracy count. The victims were discovered after a caseworker conducting a welfare check found the mother and daughter "disoriented" and five people dead in the Morrisville apartment Monday, the document says.

Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintraub identified the victims as Shana Decree's two other children, 25-year-old Naa'Irah Smith and 13-year-old Damon Decree Jr.; Shana Decree's sister, 42-year-old Jamilla Campbell; and Campbell's 9-year-old twin daughters, Imani and Erika Allen.

A visibly shaken Weintraub said Tuesday authorities are still trying to piece together a motive and how the killings were carried out. He said investigators are considering the possibility the slayings were part of an attempted murder-suicide. He said he couldn't speak to the statements allegedly made by Shana Decree as outlined in the affidavit.

"As confusing as it was last night, we are no closer to understanding that in the harsh light of day," Weintraub said.

Weintraub said a coroner would determine causes of death. Sources tell CBS Philly the victims were strangled.

"I just feel very confident that we have the two killers locked up that committed these atrocious, atrocious murders," Weintraub said.

Apparently this is claim of a murder/suicide plan is being alleged here.

MORRISVILLE, Pa. (CBS) — A mother and daughter are claiming they killed five family members because everyone in the household wanted to die, police say. Sources say 45-year-old Shana Decree, and her daughter, 19-year-old Dominique Decree, strangled the victims over the past couple of days in their Morrisville apartment. Shana and Dominique Decree have been charged with five counts of criminal homicide and one count of conspiracy to commit criminal homicide.

The victims include Shana Decree’s children — 25-year-old Naa’Irah Smith, and 13-year-old Damon Decree Jr. — as well as Shana Decree’s sister, 42-year-old Jamilla Campbell, and Campbell’s 9-year-old twin daughters, Imani and Erika Allen.

A Bucks County Children and Youth Social Services case worker was doing an unannounced wellness check Monday afternoon inside the first-floor apartment at the Robert Morris Apartments on West Bridge Street, and discovered a bedroom full of dead and semi-conscious family members, in what police believe as a murder-suicide attempt.

Shana Decree and Dominique Decree were rushed to the hospital after being found in the apartment. One was found unconscious and the other was seizing.

According to an affidavit released on Tuesday, Shana Decree told police everyone in the apartment, including the 9-year-olds and 13-year-old, wanted to die. Decree allegedly said they had all been talking about suicide.

“We will do our best to get justice for those two girls and those three other victims,” an emotional Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub said during a press conference Tuesday afternoon.

Weintraub said all eight family members lived inside the apartment.

“Frankly, we’re still trying to sort everything out,” the DA said.

At the hospital, the suspects allegedly told police it was everyone’s wish to commit suicide. Police are not buying it.

“When you have two 9-year-olds involved, two 9-year-olds can’t make that decision, and a 13-year-old. Is it something in the adults’ minds? I don’t know, but it’s surely not in 9-year-old minds,” said Morrisville Police Chief George McClay. “It’s a sad day for us. As much as I’ve seen over my career, this is the saddest case I’ve ever had.”

Shana Decree is being held without bail at the Bucks County Jail. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 5 at 9:30 a.m. Dominique Decree was arraigned by video and was also denied bail. Weintraub says she is still receiving medical treatment and being watched by police.

Police say 17-year-old Joshua Campbell, the son of Jamilla Campbell, has been found safe after authorities were searching for him. He is not a suspect in the case.

The scene is still being processed, but authorities say it may take weeks to unravel how and why these five people were killed.

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The investigation is continuing after a mother and daughter have been charged in the murders of five family members, including three children. Forty-five-year-old Shana Decree and her daughter, 19-year-old Dominique Decree, are being held without bail after being charged Tuesday. It’s a crime that has friends, relatives and neighbors beside themselves.

“I didn’t have nothing bad to say about neither one of them, it’s shocking,” said Nicole Owens.

Owens, whose daughter is cousins with the victims, used to drop off food to the family at the center of what police believe was an attempted murder-suicide.

Police say, on Saturday, a social worker stopped by for a wellness check and after receiving no response, left a business card in the door.

That card was still in the door when she returned Monday and again got no response. She asked a maintenance man to let her in and they made the grisly discovery.

On Tuesday, investigators removed more than a dozen evidence bags and towed away two cars. Authorities say it may take weeks to piece together exactly what happened, but some people will never understand why, especially why anyone would kill children.

“Well, I could not imagine losing any of my own children or any relative of that age, that they never got a chance to meet in life. To be a teenager,” said Owens. “But they were so respectful little girls. They were always smiling and speaking and just jolly twins. They always stuck together. They were a close knit family. Really close, really close.”

Joseph Chatman, Campbell’s ex-boyfriend, said he’s still “trying to process this.”

“I would never expect nothing like this, especially out of Jamilla. I just pray for the family and all that. I hope everybody can heal,” said Chatman.

Police say it was their understanding the suspects and victims all lived together in the apartment with another teen boy who has since been found unharmed.

Religion is being used as a motive for the murder and insanity

No one answered when a social worker knocked on the door.

Not Shana Decree or her three children. Not her sister or her three children.

All was quiet inside unit S-7 at Robert Morris Apartments — because most of the people who lived there were dead, police said.

It’s not clear why the case worker was checking on the apartment in Morrisville, Pa., near the Delaware River. But when there was no response Monday afternoon, she asked a maintenance worker to unlock the door, according to court documents.

The scene inside was straight from nightmares: overturned furniture, shattered glass and clutter throughout the home. Two disoriented women. And five bodies, including those of three children, in a backroom.

The details come from an affidavit for probable cause, which accuses Shana Selena Decree, 45, and her daughter, Dominique Klaran Decree, 19 — the two who were found alive — of killing the other five. Relatives say religion may have played a role.

The two women are each facing five counts of criminal homicide as well as one count of conspiracy to commit criminal homicide.

It was not immediately clear who is representing them.

Authorities have identified the victims as Shana Decree’s children Naa’Irah Smith, 25, and Damon Decree Jr., 13; Shana Decree’s sister, Jamilla Campbell, 42; and Campbell’s 9-year-old twin daughters, Imani and Erika Allen. Another relative, Campbell’s 17-year-old son, Joshua, has been found unharmed, authorities said.

Authorities said that there are no other suspects in the case.

“I am sure that you’re going to ask me why this has occurred and what the motivation is, and as confusing as it was last night, we are no closer to understanding that in the harsh light of day,” Bucks County District Attorney Matthew D. Weintraub said during a news conference Tuesday. “We will continue to pursue every lead and to work this case to its just conclusion. I expect that will be a long and laborious process, but we will always keep Naa’Irah, Damon, Jamilla, Erika and Imani first and foremost in our minds and our hearts as we work to get justice for them.”

Weintraub told reporters Tuesday that authorities are investigating the brutal massacre to determine how exactly the family members died, when it happened and why they may have been killed.

When asked whether it may have been a murder-suicide pact, the district attorney said that was a “potentiality.”

Destiny Harris, who is the half sister of the twins, Erika and Imani, told ABC affiliate WPVI that the family was “going through something religiously and they decided to drag the kids into it.”

Damon Decree, Sr., Shana’s ex-husband and Dominique’s father, told the station that they had been “talking about demons being all around them.”

“Apparently they had dissected into some type of cult that they materialized online,” he said of the family. “I don’t know how or what kind of cult.”

Police responded to the home about 4 p.m. Monday and found Shana and Dominique Decree “disoriented” in bed. The two were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to court records.

Meanwhile, according to the court records, police uncovered a gruesome scene in a backroom in the apartment — one person’s body was face up on a bed, with his head toward the end and his right foot through the wall to the next room.

Another was on the bed, and one was sitting up against it. One of the children was on the floor. And one person was under another body.

During an interview with police, Shana and Dominique Decree denied knowing what had happened, then told police Campbell’s boyfriend and two other men had come into the apartment and killed the victims, according to the court records.

Later, Shana Decree told police the victims, including the three children, wanted to die and had been discussing suicide, according to the court records.

Ultimately, police said, Shana and Dominique Decree told investigators about a complicated plan that allegedly involved some of the victims killing each other — at least one of them being choked to death — and then Shana and Dominique Decree killing the rest of them, according to the court documents.

Authorities said the 17-year-old boy, who has since been found safe, was not at home during the killings.

Shana Decree was arraigned in the early hours of Tuesday morning, and her daughter, Dominique, was arraigned in the afternoon. Both women are being held without bail, according to booking records.

“I just feel very confident that we have the two killers locked up that committed these atrocious, atrocious murders,” Weintraub, the district attorney, said.

Raleigh man grieving after police say his wife and daughter killed 5 family members, including son, in Pennsylvania

MORRISVILLE, Pa. (WTVD) -- A Raleigh man is grieving the loss of his son after authorities say his wife and daughter killed five of their family members, including three children, in Pennsylvania.

Damon Decree Sr. spoke to ABC11 on Tuesday and he said that although he was surprised they would hurt their own family, he wasn't surprised something strange was going on.

His estranged wife, 45-year-old Shana Decree and their daughter, 19-year-old Dominique Decree, were both charged with five counts of murder.

The five family members killed have been identified as: Shana Decree's children -- Naa'Irah Smith, 25, and Damon Decree Jr., 13 -- Shana's sister, Jamilla Campbell, 42, and Campbell's 9-year-old twin daughters, Imani and Erika Allen.

"This been going on for the past month," Decree Sr. told ABC11. "I mean we been calling children's services, calling the police."

"From my niece, apparently they had dissected into some type of cult that they materialized online," he said. "I don't know how, what kind of cult. And they were talking about demons being all around them."

He said that if his wife and daughter committed the crimes, he wants them held accountable.

"I don't want them in no insane asylum," he said. "I want to see them in jail for the rest of their life."

ABC11's sister station WPVI was told Children and Youth Social Services Agency did, in fact, perform a welfare check at the apartment where the family lived on Saturday, but when no one answered, a worker left a card.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, representatives returned to the apartment for an unannounced visit around 4 p.m. Monday. When nobody answered, the representative had a maintenance worker open the apartment.

Shana and Dominique Decree were found in bed. The worker reported that the two seemed disoriented and the apartment was in disarray. Local police were called to the scene and both women were taken to the hospital.

Arriving officers saw furniture upended in the apartment, along with broken glass and clutter. The Children and Youth representative told police the apartment was not in disarray during their last visit in early February.

"We've been calling and checking and doing everything we needed to do," Decree Sr. said. "Every time they went from my perspective at least, they said the kids were safe and it's nothing we could do."

Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintraub says two people are in custody after five family members were found dead inside a Bucks County apartment.

Police initially saw four bodies in a small bedroom. The fifth was later discovered underneath another body.

Authorities say Dominique had visible injuries to her neck and, at first, denied knowing what happened. She claimed that an unknown man hurt her and she kept repeating she wanted to die.

Shana also first denied knowing what happened, according to police, claiming her sister's boyfriend and two strange men came into the apartment and killed everyone except her and her daughter.

Dominique separately then echoed claims about her aunt's boyfriend and two unknown males.

The affidavit indicates that later, Shana told police everyone in the apartment, including the 9-year-old twins and 13-year-old, wanted to die and were talking about suicide.

    Another clue

(CNN) - Shana Decree pulled her son out of a Pennsylvania school weeks ago. Then with the help of her 19-year-old daughter, she allegedly killed him and four family members, authorities said.

Decree withdrew her son, Damon Decree Jr., 13, from school and didn't follow up with a plan for his education as expected, Superintendent Jason Harris of the Morrisville School District told CNN.

She called the school district two weeks ago, saying her son was not returning to class because she was planning on home schooling him, Harris told CNN affiliate KYW. She was required to provide the superintendent with a home school curriculum, but she never did, he added.

Damon was later found dead in an apartment along with his sister, aunt, and twin cousins. The boy's father, Damon Decree Sr., said he believes his estranged wife and daughter were involved in a cult.

"From my niece, apparently they had dissected into some type of cult that they materialized online," he told CNN affiliate WTVD. "I don't know how, what kind of cult. And they were talking about demons being all around them."

Victims and suspects lived in same apartment
Shana S. Decree, 45, and her daughter, Dominique K. Decree, 19, are accused of killing their relatives at their apartment in Morrisville, north of Philadelphia.

The victims were Shana Decree's other two children, Naa'lrah Smith, 25, and Damon, 13; her sister, Jamilla Campbell, 42, and Campbell's 9-year-old twin daughters, Imani and Erika Allen, authorities said.

All seven lived together in the same apartment.

The mother and daughter have been charged with five counts of homicide and one count of conspiracy, the Bucks County District Attorney's Office said.

Surprise visit reveals a horrifying scene
A social worker was conducting a surprise visit Monday when the family was found, according to an affidavit. No one answered the door, so the social worker asked the building's maintenance crew to check the apartment.

Less than 20 minutes later, a maintenance worker called 911. The apartment was in disarray, with the five bodies discovered in one bedroom, the affidavit states. Shana and Dominique Decree were found "disoriented" and taken to a hospital, the document states.

A caseworker with the Bucks County Children and Youth Social Services Agency had visited the family's apartment at least one previous time, according to the affidavit.

"We've been calling and checking and doing everything we needed to do," Decree Sr. told WTVD. "Every time they went, from my perspective at least, they said the kids were safe and it's nothing we could do."

Mother and daughter admit to killings
Initially, Shana and Dominique Decree told investigators that three men carried out the killings, according to the affidavit.

But their story changed, and later both women said that they and Shana's sister, Campbell, had killed their family members. "Shana advised that all, including the children, were talking about suicide," the affidavit says.

In separate interviews with police, the women said they choked the others to death, the affidavit says. Dominique Decree's neck had visible injuries, police observed.

The cause and manner of the victims' deaths won't be available for several weeks as the coroner waits for toxicology results, authorities said.

Decree Sr. is now grieving the loss of his son, allegedly at the hands of his wife and daughter.

"I don't want them in no insane asylum," he told WTVD. "I want to see them in jail for the rest of their life."

Speaking to reporters Tuesday, Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintraub said Shana and Dominique Decree would "be made to pay for their crimes."

"We'll do our best to bring justice to those girls and the other three victims," he said.

It was not immediately clear whether the Decrees have been assigned an attorney.
