Doctor Caught Raping Pregnant Woman Undergoing C-Section, Police Say
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...caesarean.htmlA doctor in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, has been arrested after he was caught allegedly raping a woman while a cesarean section was being performed on her, according to police.
Giovanni Quintella Bezerra, 32, was arrested last week in the early hours of July 11 in Rio de Janeiro, at the Women's Hospital in Sao Joao de Meriti, according to a Daily Mirror report.
Suspicions over Bezerra's conduct had already been raised when he performed two C-sections earlier that day.
The nurses recorded him during his third C-section and were able to catch him allegedly assaulting the patient.
Following the arrest, Police said they were already investigating whether a similar attack happened to the first two patients and have said that another three women, treated on different days have, come forward to accuse him of abuse, according to a Mail Online report.
According to the Brazilian newspaper Globo, Bezerra was indicted for the rape of a vulnerable person after he was arrested. This penalty ranges from eight to 15 years in prison.
Bezerra had also raised suspicions by allegedly having heavily sedated women who were undergoing C-sections. Hospital employees were able to change the delivery room Bezerra used for his third C-section of the day in order to film him successfully.
To conduct the alleged act, Bezerra positioned himself at the woman's head as surgeons began work on delivering the baby.
The team, working only feet away from him, was unable to see the patient from the neck up. The alleged rape lasted for 10 minutes.
At the end of the alleged attack, Bezerra was also recorded cleaning the woman's mouth with gauze.
On Monday, the Regional Council of Medicine of the State of Rio de Janeiro launched an internal inquiry and opened proceedings to expel the medic.
"This behavior, in addition to deserving our repudiation, constitutes a crime, which must be punished in accordance with the legislation in force," the public agency said in a statement.
They added that at this time they are focusing on providing support to the alleged victim and her family.
Bezerra's defense said they are waiting to have access to all of the testimonies before addressing the allegations, "according to a report by Globo.
"The defense claims that it has not yet obtained full access to the testimonies and elements of evidence that were produced during the drawing up of the arrest warrant in flagrante delicto," his defense said, also confirming the accusations against Bezerra.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-sections.htmlThe woman told family she thought she was having an hallucination at the time of the attack.
Mr Bezerra only completed his medical training in anaesthesia two months ago.
Hospital staff were reportedly worried about the amount of drugs he was giving to his patients so fitted a secret camera to see what he was up to.
A Brazilian anaesthetist accused of raping a sedated woman during a C-section is feared to have carried out five similar attacks.
Giovanni Quintella Bezerra, 32, was arrested in Rio de Janeiro on July 10 after nurses became suspicious of his behaviour during two C-sections that day and secretly recorded him during a third - when they allegedly caught him assaulting the patient.
Police, who were already investigating whether the first two patients were attacked, now say another three women treated on different days have come forward to accuse him of abusing them - bringing the total to at least six.

Conservative Christian pastor arrested for child rape after allegedly grooming underage girl
A 27-year-old right-wing youth pastor from Arlington, Washington has been charged with two counts of third-degree child rape for allegedly sexually abusing a girl who at the time was just 15 years old.
The Everett Herald reports that prosecutors are alleging that Kendal Kippen met a 15-year-old girl at a youth group in 2017, when Kippen was at the time 22 years old.
The two became friends and exchanged contact information, which the girl told prosecutors flattered her at the time. The girl also said that she felt comfortable exchanging her information with Kippen because he was a church leader, which she figured meant he would not take advantage of his position.
The pair's relationship eventually grew to be sexual in nature, however, and prosecutors allege that Kippen repeatedly urged her to not tell anyone about their relationship until she turned 16 years old, which is the legal age of consent in Washington.
Additionally, it appears that the 15-year-old girl wasn't the only member of the church who drew Kippen's attentions, as an anonymous tipster called police in 2020 to report that he had been having "inappropriate relations" with multiple young congregants.
“The caller was concerned because it appeared the leaders of the church, which included the defendant’s father, were attempting to handle the situation without involving law enforcement," prosecutors allege.
Kippen's Twitter account shows that he frequently retweets messages from prominent conservatives such as Ben Shapiro. His pinned tweet reads, "I believe the greatest threat to America is the deterioration of the family unit. Until family is restored, we will be hard pressed to heal a hurting nation."

Fox host says women who haven't been pregnant aren't 'ripe' enough to run for president
Fox News host Jesse Watters said that a woman has to get married and then get pregnant before she is "ripe" enough to run for president of the United States.
During Thursday night's episode of Fox News’ "The Five," Watters discussed the possibility of Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) one day running for president.
"With age comes wisdom and she’s pretty young. That’s my nice way of saying she’s not very smart," Watters told his "The Five" co-hosts. "You know when you like pick a banana and the banana’s in your hand and it’s green and then even if you try to peel it, it’s still not even peeling? That’s AOC. She’s not ripe enough to run for president."
Rep. Ocasio-Cortez is currently engaged to longtime boyfriend Riley Roberts. At 32, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez is not old enough to run for the highest office in the country, as the Constitution prevents anyone under the age of 35 to serve as president.
Watters acknowledged Rep. Ocasio-Cortez's engagement, adding "then you have to get pregnant."
"Why?" Greg Gutfeld, a "The Five" co-host, asked Watters.
"This is how it goes. Just follow me, Greg. You get married. Then you get pregnant and then once you have the baby, you have a family and the media loves it," Watters explained. "They eat it up. And it makes you more of a mature person."
TODAY Parents reached out to representatives for Fox News and Rep. Ocasio-Cortez for comment but did not hear back at the time of publication.
On May 5, "FOX & Friends" host Brian Kilmeade said he didn’t “know why you’d give” a pregnant woman an “important” job when discussing Nina Jankowicz's appointment to a Department of Homeland Security advisory board.
At the time, Jankowicz was eight months pregnant.
“I’m not sure how you get a job and then you just — you can’t do a job for three months,” Kilmeade said, referring to a three-month-long maternity leave the Fox News host assumed Jankowicz would take after giving birth.
“I’m not faulting her," he added, "but I don’t know why you would give someone a job that you think is so important."
In 2019, a record number of women with children under the age of 18 were elected to Congress — 21 in the House and two in the Senate.
Up until 2018, newborns were not allowed on the Senate floor. After Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) gave birth to her daughter, Maile Pearl Bowlsbey, on April 9, the Senate voted to change the rules and allow infants under the age of 1 to accompany their parent should they need to vote on a weekend or during a late-night session.
Sen. Duckworth was the first sitting senator to give birth in the history of the United States.
